Did you do apps or software dev? Because I did software, and the exam was focused on just one aspect of the whole course, and of course it was the one thing I didn't study for.

I did apps, it was the only option I had. The coursework was mostly Visual Basic, Dreamweaver and a variety of HTML stuff, but the exam was completely unrelated.
There was even a question on social etiquette. On an IT Applications exam.

I remember I got Digimon the first season, the first 7 or so episodes on tape, I watched that sucker at least 100 times. It was awesome.

It was a huge craze back then. I remember watching the Pokemon movie about Mewtwo and Mew at the cinemas when it came out.

What do you think about English being scaled down by like 2. In my opinion it should stay the same. The scaling I reckon VCAA needs to address.

I wasn't overly happy about it seeing as it was my best subject (remarkable and yet useless ability to extend a 20 word point to a 200 word paragraph, haha) but I didn't do as well on it as I did in year 11 (still got 85ish for the year), so I'm even more annoyed now.
I got 100% for History for the year, pre-exam, so that should offset it. That can only be scaled down for scores of 36 or under.

It was a huge craze back then. I remember watching the Pokemon movie about Mewtwo and Mew at the cinemas when it came out.

Thing is, I only watched like 5 episodes total from season 2 onwards of Digimon. And I loved that show, I have no idea why I stopped watching it!

I remember the one with Zapdos and Moltres and Articuno, and watching them at my mate's house for the first time, I was amazed. Up til then it was the greatest moment of my life

Pfffft, ATAR is very overrated.

The weighting is stupid. One of my friends who is smarter than me did English, I.T., music, media, further and vis comm, got better marks than me in each subject. I did English, I.T., music, methods, german and chemistry, and I hardly studied and got worse marks in each subject.

BUT due to the scaling, I got 88.2, he got 85, despite the fact he worked harder, and is smarter, and got better grades. Of course I rubbed it in his face But it's not a very well thought out system.

One of my mates did all the smart person subjects that scale to mammoth proportions (French, English, chem, specialist etc); I did subjects that barely scaled (literature, further, methods, bio, psych, software dev and one more I think). He's a hell of a lot smarter than I am and did very well, but I did really well on the "easier subjects". I got 96.95, he got 96.75, so the scaling system doesn't even work like it's supposed to. Dumb system.
