A person in that position should have a much broader range of experience.

Based on her public statements though she is absolutely elite at pushing the AFL's agenda

WTF - the umpire called a mark, and if the players run over the mark like the Pies players did, before the umpire calls play on, that is clearly 50m. Just laughable.

jesus it's ****ing basic. the umpire blew the whistle for a mark. the collingwood players didnt respond to the whistle and kept coming and went way over the mark.

to excuse this just contributes to why the afl is at an all time low in terms of watchability.

My initial response when I saw this live on the TV, its a 50m penalty straight away. No doubt whatsoever.

I mean FFS there is multiple umpires on the ground, how the f**k did they f**k this up.

What a sh1t show from the afl ... Everyone would just move on if they admit they got it wrong which they clearly did ... Everyone would forget about it by now ...

If the umpire has called a mark it is not play on until the umpire calls play on. That is the silliest explanation for an umpire howler I've seen, and I've seen a few.

Just gaslighting and lies by the AFL here. It was whistled a mark and as soon as it was whistled and no play on was called, it was 50m every day of the week and not 1 but 2 players run inside the protected area.

It would then actually be 2 errors. First is not calling play on. The second is not having seen the play on movement, not calling the 50.

This is what pissed me off so much about that tackle by SPP on Sholl - aside from the fact that Sholl did not move off his line, the umpire only called play on after Sholl had been tackled, and then immediately called htb. Just plain wrong.

It is just the way things go in Australia with many organisations, second rate people, second rate decisions.

Yes, but one plays to the other. As soon as play on was not whistled, its an automatic 50m penalty and a shot for goal with around 30 seconds left from about 15m out slight angle.
