No team has got close to Sydney this year, the loss to Richmond is clearly our worst for the year. I thought for nearly 3 quarters that game against Sydney was our best for the year.
Yep, I was annoyed at half time at how well we were playing.

Why we couldn't do it in other games.

The only thing stopping Sydney winning the flag this year is the VFL and MCG.

They should be ok though, with their VFL "Souf Melbourne Bloods " origin.

So, the difference is...?

We actually have a spine key defenders and key forwards - in my view harder to replace that midfielders.

I mean we've literally battered them the last 3 times we've played them - surely thats evidence enough?

You need more than a midfield to win games and finals.

We had that in 2005 and 2006 with Roo, McLeod, Goodwin, Edwards. No flags, no GFs.
Judd, Cousins, Embley, Kerr. Crows were unlucky, WC had the better midfield and Adelaide didn't have a forward line (particularly with the injuries we had both years). Can't lose 2/3rds of the ground and win finals.

Yep our bookends are better, and midfield improving.

Get the right coach and we will go past Port soon.

If not already. Three lucky tight wins the difference in ladder position between us and them.

Richmond beat them
Like when the Eagles beat Collingwood a couple of years ago and when North smacked us in Hobart that time, that will go down as one of those mystery games that no one will work out how it happened.

They have the wallpaper over crack wins we didn't get.

Wins are wins.

They’re flat trackers, we’re a cellar dweller. It’s been that way for a few years now. Find it difficult to claim superiority over them.

Apart from winning more showdowns recently, which has been fun.

Geelong made out like bandits in the Rautgolea trade. 2nd rounder for someone not AFL standard.
Ratugolea and his manager are the real winners here, he is on ~$700k/year.

That works out to ~$28k per game in a game ~25 game season.:drunk:

We will be challenging again before them.
