Given they whacked him for his social media use only a couple of weeks ago, I think its absolutely worth giving him a week off
Why? Off field incidents should only be punishable by fines.

However not dropping a player, for sending a fellow professional, a message threatening them with violence outside of the workplace is ****ed. If I did this at work, I'd be sacked that day.
Mate - if you tackled your colleagues you would also be fired that day.
Professional Sports should not be compared to the regular workplace.

So a player who assaults another player off the field, should 'just get a fine'?
Why ??Why? Off field incidents should only be punishable by fines.
Hmmmm that's a strange callMate - if you tackled your colleagues you would also be fired that day.

They didn’t even fine him though? Why? Off field incidents should only be punishable by fines.
Why ??
As weak as it was you threatened someone in a workplace
lol what a bizzare example. Tackling is an act that is expected within that workplace, like me finishing a report.
Threatening a player outside of a field, with violence, is not workplace behaviour.
They didn’t even fine him though?
The issue is there’s no consistency, players have received fines for off field behaviour and threatening a player off field surely can’t be deemed acceptable off field behaviour.Personally - don't really think it deserved either a fine or a suspension. However if the AFL had to punish him - it should only be a fine.
As I said before - I think that suspensions in the AFL should be limited to acts performed on the field or doping. Everything else should be dealt with by fines.
A lot of desperate crows fans here wanting him to have a week off when we play them.Port shouldn't punish him and haven't
If he cops a penalty from the AFL, OK.
Clubs aren't obligated to make their own job harder. That sort of idiocy is reserved for us.
Maybe clubs down the bottom who are going to lose anyway can afford to win moral brownie points eg Richmond/Balta but if you're trying to win games, you can't.
Does he deserve a penalty...? Tricky one. Can't remember anything this unhinged and childish before. Is being a complete bellend punishable in terms of fines/suspension? Probably not

Fare enough, but you'd have to question whether some of his team mates feel comfortable with him stinking out the gaff, making absurd social media posts and threatening people.
If one of my colleagues was doing that, it's the sort of person I'd stay clear of.
He's kicked 4 goals in 3 games against us, hardly scary stuff....
It's just pathetic that he's allowed to act like a grub and get **** all punishment.
I think you may want to have a read of the many threads on this across social media platforms to gauge the overall sentiment, this has nothing to do with Crows vs Port. I was equally as frustrated at the pissweak response towards the Balta situation as well, the AFL are a joke atm.A lot of desperate crows fans here wanting him to have a week off when we play them.
We talking a Tonya harding incident? Then that player should get suspended.
IMO - Only time a player should miss a football match is if they illegally cause harm to another footballer.
Unless your work is cage fightinglol what a bizzare example. Tackling is an act that is expected within that workplace, like me finishing a report.

There is a bigger narrative at play here i thinkI'm genuinely surprised the AFL haven't done anything. As far as Port is concerned, the most they should be doing is having him front the group and apologise for putting his spot in doubt for a season defining game.
'woke thought crimes' - ok champ. On an objective level it's really so weird/childish/stupid who cares.
The difficulty I have is that we could describe the GWS suspensions precisely the same way.
Just another example of how entirely arbitrary the AFL's disciplinary process is and in some respects how ultra-sensitive it is to things veering towards woke thought crimes viz a viz actual violent crimes.
Explain nothing for Willie and only 4 weeks for Balta as against the GWS/Powell/Tex penalties then?'woke thought crimes' - ok champ.
