Nicks against Brisbane has 2 wins, 5 losses and a draw.

I just said the last few years? Why would I bother going at looking at games from 2020 and 2021 when we were bottom of the table?

Nicks would have a losing record against most teams in the league if your going down that path.

Yeah that's fair enough. I just happened to have Nicks' AFL Tables page loaded.

Or maybe we are?

I'm not sure people are taking in how good a win that was against the Dorks. Game on the line, both teams at limit and we change our forward structure to free up Rankine and Tex. Both of them needed to execute but that was an option we had, which seems strange that plan B is to isolate Tex and Rank...oh to have that as a plan B

We currently sit first on the ladder with 3 weeks to go.

Collingwood have just lost to Gold Coast, Fremantle and Brisbane (latter at the MCG). We should hold no fear and make a statement in 2 weeks.

We shouldn’t be looking at easiest path to a Grand Final, other teams should be looking how to avoid us.

Strap yourselves in, we’re in for one hell of a ride over the next 8 weeks.

No, I just think too many on this board are worried about other team results, when we can control our own destiny.

I live my life by don't worry about things you can't control!

Well said.

No point stressing about things you can’t control.

If we are fair dinkum, we will beat the Pies on our home deck. We have shown over recent years we are more than competitive against them and the 2025 version is better than all previous ones.

Brisbane are the best team in it.

I think at their best they are. I still feel think they have been a bit off at times which could just be a premiership hangover. They are still my pick.

What's interesting for us compared to some other years is I don't think there is a certainty for the flag but also there won't be any easy games. Often in a final series you want to play or avoid certain teams. I am not sure it really matters this year.

This has a distinct 2016 feel about it - any side can win.

The good thing unlike 2016 is we have locked in a top 4 spot.

Collingwoods last 2 months have not been impressive.

Losses to Brisbane, Suns and Freo
Just beat Melbourne
Only 4 goal wins against other bottom sides.

They are playing like a team in the pack below us, or even lower.

As I said at the Collingwood game in May, they have a group of elite players but I thought our overall team depth wise was better than theirs.

If Collingwood need to play 4 finals they won’t win the flag, the age profile is going to hurt.

It sort of has a Sydney 2024 feel about them - got off to a flyer but slowly coming back to the field.

Or they are playing like a team who knows how long the season is and is doing enough to win

Loss to GC by 6 points in Qld - looking like they had jet lag
Loss to Freo at the MCG by 1 point - not definitive
Loss to a likely finals opponent - Brisbane - could be the end of their taper

I get the feeling they are doing what they need to do

Then again I also though Sydney were unbeatable last year
