Always had been, terrible, terrible show. Started bad and then got worse when Gaze was added. Annoyed me for a while because it was the only show on after the round concluded and they wasted the opportunity by trying to be funny.

At some point in the week you have to have a fun footy show for the casual footy watcher that isn’t an analysis panel. They’re not all spending their spare time arguing about Curtin’s CBA % out there…

Plenty of opportunities for that which aren’t the first opportunity for a serious catch up of every game of the round and to look at the round upcoming. Front Bar isn’t out of place a day before the first game. Sunday Footy Show does a good job of mixing fun and genuine discussion, takes 2 hours though.

Anyway, moot point these days as they did the right thing and added First Crack. Which is why my initial post said it annoyed me for a while.

The old footy show was a great show that combined serious discussion and a bit of fun very well. But everything has a use by date and it lasted a number of years beyond theirs.
