Atkins, Murphy, they're trying to steal our squad!Lachie Murphy, come on downnnn!!!
Nicnat because of injury right?Don't understand spending so much on a Ruckman.
Scott Lycett is a Premiership player, Nicnat and Brodie Grundy are not.
What's the deal with Rioli? Cooked or disciplinary issues?

I'm used to just turning off the internet and not looking again till draft day.Anyone else keep looking for our delistings out of habit and then remember we're actually still playing?
Why would he want it out of bounds? He had 2 players there, it does waste time. It’s another stoppage and players converge. You’ve got win the stoppage, rely on another stoppage occurring versus getting the ball to one of your players. It doesn't waste any time
He wanted it out of bounds. Realised that it would look too bad if he just walked it over so gave a token handball. The umpire didn't buy it and nor should he have
Disagree 100%. World of pain. 8 gone already and could easily get rid of 10 more. No first rounder. CD could jump ship. Butters and Bergman leaving.Nah, I think people say that out of hope but it won't happen.
They are not us from seven years ago. They have a reasonably young list, their best players (Butters, JHF, Georgadis) are elite and still young and they will most likely get access to a number of very high first round picks. Cochrane looks good and Pilot in a few years looks a freak. Add in the other father sons.
If they get a full season out of JHF and get a better overall run with injuries they will be in the mix for a top 8 spot.
I know some in here will say there bottom six is ordinary and it is but that is easily fixed as we have shown. If you start a rebuild with the top end talent already in place it can turn quickly.
How do you rate their list overall? I understand they may have a couple of talented youngsters (all clubs do) but overall it looks like a lot of crap to me. Like about 30 players on their list from what I have seen. Some I havent seen are crappy 3rd or 4th rounder draft picks. I think I have been quite generous here even to Power

Because he was on the last line of defence with opposition players all aroundWhy would he want it out of bounds? He had 2 players there, it does waste time. Wasn't expecting that.
He's their 2nd most dangerous forward.

Yeah, I don't watch most of the shows in the best of times, but have completely tuned out since Rankine affair & finishing top, as knew it would be a pile on.Know it probably got mentioned last night, but I begrudgingly watched the footy shows last night (360, Couch, Classified) and couldn't help but notice there was just this underlying sense of salty bitterness the fact we finished top.
360 Interviewed Nicks and at least had to acknoweldge it but got far from excited.
Couch gave us literally 2 mins and said 'got the job done, but have issues, not sure about them' in a throw away before an ad break.
Classified with chief flog Manure dug up the Rankine issue and were in shock he left for overseas.
I forgot in finals the Vic bias and hatred gets ratcheted up to another level.... Have vague flashbacks to 2017 now![]()
Average is misleading because of the massive top salaries. Median would be better to look at, and those players are surely below the medianAverage afl salary is $450k
Think those figures would be around the mark . Maybe the lower 2 players would be on 100k each, not 200k
2024 flattered them, but they aren't as bad as their 2025 result either, they just accumulated too many injuries over the year. As you say their midfield keeps them competitive and will continue to do so. Seems likely Butters walks next year though. Over the next couple years they need to look to replace almost their entire back 7, that's the most glaring problem area. Couple of quality small forwards would be the next priority. If they can find a few of those amongst the young players already on their list it will make the task a lot easier.Nah, I think people say that out of hope but it won't happen.

If a Vic team did this it would be magical Disneyesque celebration. In any other reality a team going from 15th to first in one season would be heavily discussed and celebrated……but here we are.
If anyone had any doubts just how bias and manipulative the AFL media is this should seal it.
Also just note that we were the toast of the town before we secured the minor premiership.
They're perfectly ok with us as a plucky upstart who will ultimately lose.
They hate the idea that we'll succeed. It's been the same the entire history of the Club (and broadly for all non-victorian clubs)
I didn’t realise he was 30. To be fair not all 30 year olds are made equal. He definitely doesn’t look as fast or agile as he used to, mind you I never recall him being a Wizard in the forward line. At least he gets to go out on his terms and with a premiershipHe's cooked imo and not worth the hassle, he's averaged just over a goal a game across his entire career - you can get better than that from a small forward. Plus the bloke can barely run out a game now.
Was a good plan. At least that incident doesn't mark the end of his careerHe wanted to walk away from football after the Bulldogs game.
I suspect Port most probably talked him into playing out the rest of the year in the hope that he might change his mind.
