Scoring shots are indicative of what's happening in general play. Yes, there's a qualitative factor that impacts where opportunities are created, which leads to goals v behinds, but comparing scoring opportunity, regardless of outcome, is a meaningful indicator as to how you're competing against your opponent outside of the scoring zone. That we matched Freo away for scoring opportunities, with our outs, is an obvious good sign.
