Posted about Poor Crowds after Round 2 and was told to 'wait before I leap the shark'.. I figure I have waited long enough.

Crowds are down by a long long way across all games basically.. something stinks in the state of Denmark and only a fool would ignore it. If AFL loses its live crowd, then it is at real risk. Once you rely on 'TV' viewers, then you are suddenly competing with a lot of different entertainment options and loyalty levels drop markedly.

Soccer is rapidly growing in this country, and the availability of US sports like NBA/MLB/NFL is on the rise.. these will all take some of the TV market share if the AFL doesn't rectify the issues. This season will see more than 50% of all NFL games shown live, or near live, on AUS TV for the first time. Every game of NBA was available for free live streaming in AUS for the first time this season, and the first game of the Finals series between Heat and Spurs was watching by more people than Friday Night football (on Fox Footy)... so make of that what you will.

Say what? On which station? Mind you, I have NFL Gamepass, so this doesn't mean a whole lot to me, as I can watch every game anyway.

Fox has committed to Thursday Night, At least 2 'early' Sunday games and then late afternoon and Sunday Night games and both Monday games. So 6-7 depending on schedule, and One HD will continue to screen 1-2 games. I know there is often double ups between the One HD game and FOX but still.. there is a good chance you can see up to 8 games a week now.

Personally I'd love for NFL to negotiate to release all games to out of market, irrespective of original broadcaster.. and then have the option to watch whichever games you want (press Red style) but that will never happen.

Like you said.. GamePass is the best bet.. but still..

I think it's Broncos/Pats neck a neck in the AFC, with my Colts 3rd after them in the pecking order. Mind you, Texans/Falcons/Redskins finished with the 3 worst records last year after all winning their division the year before, so who knows (I thought the Redskins would have a down year though, but not as bad as they ended up having). Oh, and about ONE HD, their rights deal with the NFL expired at the end of last season, and they didn't renew it, did they have a change of heart about that since I last checked?

Perhaps that is what I missed.. that is why Fox has the extra 2 games a week..

I thought One originally said no, and then the NFL intervened and they were looking at a deal to run 1 CBS game per week? I am probably way off base.
