God Port Melbourne are impressive. In theory Richmond's 18 afl listed blokes should have been able to keep them in it, but they were just absolutely smashed around the ball, and are probably a bit lucky it was wet (although if it was dry their talls may have had more of an impact).

I was already not a fan of their depth, but apart from Lennon and Arnott (who Dimma seemingly despises) none of them really looked like it

I got laughed off the main board about six weeks ago for suggesting that Essendon would make the finals and Gold Coast wouldn't.

I actually don't mind the lions' list in parts. Have a lot of reasonable young key defenders, like Clarke (dodgy kick though), Mcstay and Gardiner. Need a forward to work alongside Close, but their spine could be good in a year or two.

They've got an Academy player called Hammelman who will be their CHF for 10 years when he matures. Bloke is a genuine gun

Pretty raw though. Will take a bit of time. But yeah, think you might be right.
Honestly if he were on the open market I would jump at him at 19/20 (Frawley compo included)

Thanks Brisbane.

Since our win up there earlier in the year (which was criticised at the time) they've notched up solid victories over Carlton, North Melbourne & now it looks like Gold Coast.

Brisbane's midfield is better? #wow

Yep.

(And even ignoring this amazing game, Rockliff, Redden, Rich, Hanley - that's a top drawer best four mids)

Bump time I think. ;)

I'd wanna see more of him, but wouldn't mind another KPF with no.19.
Depending on whether or not we get back into the second round I'd look at Keitel. Huge wrap for the kid, even if his 2 televised games weren't great. 12 goals in 5 games in the Colts for East Perth. Doing pretty well for himself at that level.

so obviously i dont watch brisbane but it seems martin quite enjoys being lone ruckman. is this a surprise. did melbourne have reason to believe this could happen. if so why did they not dump jamar
Yeh, that's a really weird one. He seemed like an obv good talent with really good athletic tools when he was there.

They also lost to GWS by 7 goals up there. Still, it's good to see that even the worst teams aren't god awful anymore.

For everyone that believes that GC are 'way ahead' of GWS need to have a look at GC form without GAJ. Whilst one player shouldn't make a difference.. when that player is a freak to the scale of GAJ.. it does. They just look lost without him and seriously lacking in leadership.. like seriously lacking.

I think it is saying more about Gold Coast than Brisbane right now.

Lets hope Lions can keep it up.. will give the Bombers a handy chance to cement top 8.
