I say yes. And that is no disrespect to Lenny who's been a great player in his own right.

I'm finding it hard to say why as many of the traits I bring up were common to them both, perhaps it is due to Kemp being in his prime coincided with the period in my life where I lived footy more than any other time (late high school into my uni years).

Balanced, poised, skilled, tough, big game player, great wet weather player. They apply to both. Maybe Kemp because he was a better natural athlete. That's probably clutching at straws but I'll go with it.

Dean Kemp or Lenny Hayes ? My first thoughts say Kemp as he was a better ball user, but when you factor in that Kemp played in abeter midfield,and was more often hidden from taggers. On reflection, I give it to Hayes.

Was St Kilda's midfield really better than West Coast's of early to mid '90s vintage? There was some pretty handy talent in there.

Saying that West Coast had a team of midfielders, so it was easier for Kemp to get off the leash.
