"The Tiger Punch"

Lots of talk about the Tigers and the Pies and theories as to why they are going like they are but it is pretty simple.
If you turn the ball over coming out of defense or in the middle then you get smashed going the other way and end up looking slow and chasing all
night/day. People are cheering the new run forward style of play right now but if you can not keep possession you are stuffed.
Fremantle are looking bad for the same reason at the moment, poor ball control.

I'm a bit surprised that people are surprised with how they are going I didn't have either of them improving on last year. There was so much talk about the pies kids and howe they recruited. But you can't bank on 18-21yos being 26yos when they aren't 26 (Zaharakis is a prime example of this. Won a B&F at 21 but is still looking for consistent good footy. Hopefully this is the year..) And the pies were always going to still struggle if they lost one of Swan or Pendlebury. Just as the tigers would struggle without Deledio or Cochin.

The MRP said Jonas's actions were reasonable in the circumstances, given the Power defender got both hands to the ball and the siren had sounded when the ball was in flight.
What a load of shit, Danger had casually stopped from a run by the time Jonas kneed him in the back. It wasn't like it was a goal square contest

Umpires boss has said the no call on Isaac Smith was the correct on as he apparently 'had no prior opportunity to dispose of the ball'

Yeah, didn't really address it all. I don't think anyone would've minded if he said "there was prior opportunity, it was holding the ball, but was impossible to see from the umpire's position, he did the right thing under the circumstances". Don't know where the umpire was at the time, but you can't see the non-handball at all in the main broadcast footage, only in replays.

Is it just me or does West Coast have little to no depth?

Like Freo, as it turns out.
Why are people praising Alex Rance for talking about what he did?
Because it's sensitive new age guy time and the industry is desperately trying to hold onto the footballer = role model image. But only when it suits it to do so.

They have little to no depth, which is why their run last year confused me immensely.

If you get kissed on the proverbial RE: injuries you get all sorts of fun outcomes. Don't need to test the depth.

Not all of the above is true.

Pavlich is doing fine, especially given he is (once again) their only forward option.

Their youth is fine. Not amazing, but they haven't had the draft picks to get anyone too extraordinary. Weller and Grey have done well today.

They're still trying to implement the new plan (which seems unfinished anyway), but their main problem is how to score 100 without letting the opposition score 130.

Good post - Importantly they can't trap the ball in the forward half - Which is combination of mindset and decline of players.

I recall a period wher Williams' right knee was shot and he spent the better part of a season almost exclusively using his left and you wouldn't have known it was his non-prefered.

Tell me I'm not making that up Yaco as I am certain without being 100%.

He also rarely kicked over 40 as he was lethal within 40 and he played to his strengths.

100% correct with your post.

Heading to the dogs north game friday night, borrowing my cousins 2 afl memberships which obviously have their names on them not mine(Both are adult tickets though). Have upgraded to a reserved seat for $7.50 up on level 3. Chances on getting checked at the gate whilst using a ticket? (can enter at any gate, not just 6 or 7)

You now have reserved tickets with the upgrade? If so, pretty much no chance of being asked for the membership card.

Rance had a presser to apologise for his suspension - A complete waste of time - I'm surprised any media would show.

Tosspot at w***er club - it is not surprising. That they would do it, that is. That there is any interest is a sad indication of how much football media there is to cover nothing.

Yeah reserved tickets with the upgrade on level 3 and can enter at any gate, not just afl reserve.
Beautiful, thanks mate
