Almost a perfect day of footy from a Freo perspective

Freo (3rd) won, which obviously means Sydney (1st) lost

Essendon (4th) lost

Collingwood (5th) lost

GWS (8th) lost

In such a tight season todays results have been massive for us. Don’t think many would have predicted us to be 3rd at the end of the round

Their percentage was 103 before this round. They’ve barely been above 100 all season. Absolute pretenders.

Nah their percentage and ladder position never really linked up. Win/loss and percentage tell a very different story for Essendon.

That’s why I’d pick Essendon of any top eight side to play in finals. I reckon their percentage is a better indicator of their quality than win/loss is - that’d rank them 6th last as opposed to 4th top. Don’t think they’re the 6th worst team tbh but they’re closer to that than 4th best.
