Watched a documentary tonight on Muhammad Ali.

He made an interesting comment in his later years, when afflicted with Parkinsons.

He was asked if he had any regrets, and he replied that he did not regret what boxing did to him, but was grateful for what boxing did for him.
Boxing did similar things to other without doing for them a fraction of what it did for the great man, so other opinions may differ

So they've not named him because he had a drink on a 6 day break.

If that's their rule fair enough.

It hasn't been explained why he wasn't named in the 22 & no mention from Carlton about any potential breach of rules/policy's or that Tom was in Geelong over the weekend

On the news it seemed they were suggesting he's just not in their best 22 at the moment

No doubt but the life Ali had with the fame, riches and legacy would skew that perspective compared to a journeyman who didn’t have the same career and left with the same consequences
I think part of what Ali was saying was based on how he was given a platform to explain black muslim and civil rights to Americans. Not just the money etc.

Yeah I get that and that’s part of his legacy as I mentioned …the price paid for the life he had was pretty high imo …with many other athletes paying a similar cost with far less legacy to leave behind that may not had been worth such a high price

There's certainly that aspect, but from the documentary, it seemed that Ali was grateful the opportunities that came his way from boxing, albeit a successful career.

The chances of such damage are, obviously, somewhat less playing footy than being a boxer.

The thing is, there is risk attached no matter the endeavour. Nothing is achieved without risk.

You can mitigate risk, but can you remove it entirely? No.

I've just picked Port. I just don't think Sts will keep winning. Not logical. It's just the vibe.
I agree in regards to the Saints but I can't remember the last time Port were reliable in Melbourne. They've been such huge pretenders for so long now. Feel like they burn me all the time in tipping.
