AFL house should have learned their lesson from when they came to Ablett Jr with a dump truck full of cash.
It seems they haven't though as they've realised the extra draft handouts from 2019 haven't worked, so they've decided they'll try again with attempting to buy success for the Suns.

I wouldn't be surprised the AFL and Hardwick were talking before he quit Richmond.

The AFL want a proven coach for the Sun's, but have to ease Dew out. They do a deal with Hardwick, wait as the pressure builds on Dew, then give Hardwick the nod.

He duly leaves the Tigers citing 'burn out', and they let a few weeks go by to allow the outcry to die down, then he announces 'he misses coaching'.

A week or so later Dew is sacked, and we all now wait for the appointment of Hardwick......after a 'due process' of course.

That's my conspiracy theory.

GWS have gone past Gold Coast.
It's disappointing for the Suns given they've rebuilding for years and received draft handouts as recently as 2019.
Hardwick going to the Suns would be a disaster
for them given he's clearly burnt out. It would be like Denis Pagan or Mick Malthouse at Carlton.
GWS are a better side IMO... Suns away from home are not the same beast.
On draft picks given. If the players turn out to be duds it doesn't matter how many picks u get.
Been unlucky to have drafted a pick later when a real star was on the table.
Sam Walsh was a bitter pill in his draft year.
Missing him and getting Lukosious and then nabbing Rankine for him to pack his bags and leave after his allotted 2 years was a killer blow.
Getting sucked in by the King Bros hype didn't help either.
Add to that Bailey Smith's manager made sure they weren't going to take him.
That years haul of 4 should be starters has turned into Jack Lukosious pretty much. King is the most over hyped spud since his brother.
Go back even further getting Ainsworth, Scrimshaw, Brodie and Bowes have come up short.... again.
Oh and taking Mac Andrew is another WTF was that pick.
Yeah not sure of that. Dew was not the answer. Is DH ?? We shall see.

AFL house went after Clarkson last year and weren't too happy when he decided to sign with North.
It wasn't long after Clarkson signed with North when the allegations against him came out.
I'm sure it was all just a coincidence.

Is it just me or does Max Gawn get away with murder at ruck contests around the ground? He is like the Steven silvagni of ruckmen, he holds at every contest

The WCE is a broken club with arrogance and egos holding it back. This club needs a cleanout from the board down. It's a blight on the competition as it currently stands.

Also, the Bomber's performance against the WB devalues our win against them a few weeks ago. The Bombers are not as good as everyone has been saying. They play Norf & the WCE twice this year (like Carlton), which has helped them be higher on the ladder.

This is truly a compromised competition.

Yeah but we got West Coast and Nth Melb twice last year in our Premiership year

That will be on every CEO wishlist - getting those 2 clubs twice in the one year

West Coast and Nth MELB - to me you have to go right back to the early to mid 60s with Fitzroy - to get a team who were deadset hopeless and basically nearly a gift win to the opp team - around 63-65 i think they won 1-2 games - and 1 year kept a clean sheet went winless

We discussed this last year quite a bit, and IIRC it was worked out that if you took two of those wins out of our H&A record The Cats would have still finished on top of the ladder.

Pies will win the next 3 or 4, it’s going to be a Lions/Hawks type dynasty. Such a good team to watch unfortunately.

I doubt it.

Pendlebury and Sidebottom remain hugely important for them and are somehow still playing great footy - but for how long? Crisp and Adams are playing great footy but will have to take over as the veterans. Howe is close to retirement. Mitchell probably doesn't have more than another strong year left.

They need to capitalise now. There are no guarantees in the coming years. Every team that look good in H&A we say will be the next dynasty, probably because we've somehow had 4 this century. But that doesn't mean they'll keep happening.

Perfect reverse mozz by me. You can see the impact I made on the chart as follows. #science

You won't win many games of footy interstate against a top team kicking 3.10 to this point. Similar to Geelong with 1.8 or something early in the third quarter yesterday. If Adelaide were 7.6 right now, or Geelong 4.4 at that point yesterday - the games would've been right in the balance. Even if Adelaide get on a run now, you'd think they have too big of a task.

The choke is on!

Another "seasoned top 4 team doing enough" win coming up for the Demons. They might not be good, but to their credit they hold on most times.

Having said that, this is an exciting burst by the Crows.
Top 4 teams tend to find a way. Let’s hope the bottle it.
