Demons have been doing the contested ball + running in waves game style for the last couple of years with mixed results. It's nice to see them sticking to it and now almost perfecting it. Even next tier players like Sparrow look fully developed and strong, ready to do hard running both ways. Looked too sharp and too good, fantastic to watch.

All these commentators kept saying "oh it looks like Richmond" which is kind of not fair, Dees were lot more precise through the traffic and not the play-on-always style they used in 2018/19. They've found a better balance now.

Elixuh obviosly lacks vision and can not see an opportunity here. Imagine the monetary possibilities of promoting an "Op Thread" to the other 17 clubs and hundreds and thousands of other world sports. We'll all be millionaires. Apart from Elixuh cause he must already be one and does not need the extra cash. ;) :D

It has been nice knowing you

Worth remembering that each time Geelong has fallen out of the finals the last few years, many have said they will drop off the cliff!
Thats because they keep topping up on experience rather than invest in the development of their youth. It works during the season however come finals most of their list is cooked and finals becomes a gamble that they always lose on.

They also don't give up clearances the way that Richmond did, though nor are they dominant in that area either.

The way they are like Richmond of previous years is that they rely heavily on score from turnovers much more than scores from stoppages.

Scoring from turnovers is something I think we have a lot of scope in improving in, though it relies on faster ball movement and breaking lines that doesn't necessarily fit what we are built to do currently. Melbourne scored 5 more goals from midfield intercept possessions against us in the QF, and that was the margin in the end.

Interesting how Jeremy Cameron doesn't get anywhere near the media scrutiny that Daniher received. This is after one of the more terrible performances by his team, with no major injuries to talk about.

It was mostly the Essendon affiliated media people having a go

So is it about time I get to roll out the “I told you so” and the subsequent shouting down I copped when I said that the future first round pick trade with Melbourne was a bad idea and they were a genuine finals chance.

Lot of people here talking down Melbourne during November and December last year.

Not the first time you’ve misremembered things that make you look better

It was always a strange trade even if we ended up with pick 10-12 this year

That's just the standard interstate team treatment, and has been the case all season. Not just specifically compared to J.Cameron but any VIC forward. The flack he copped for that diving fine, yet Riewoldt does it every other week and nobody bats an eye. Really makes you wonder.

the subsequent shouting down
Sure, feel free to provide examples of anything beyond people disagreeing with their own alternative view point.

The trade and draft period last year ended up a bit messy with the future Melbourne pick trade and then the Coleman bid and subsequent scramble, but in the large scheme of things I don't know if it makes a massive difference going into the future. This is especially the case if either Smith or Sharp end up best 22.

Pretty sure you weren’t the only one who thought it was a risky trade.

Hey, hey, validation from Bigfooty posters is truly the highest reward in life.

I apologise. Please accept my humblest of apologies and let me know how I can make it up to you.

That is the bigfooty equivalent of being shouted down.

I don't think an apology is going to cut it this time. I propose a trade - BRAB out, Dylan12 in.

This club is ****ed.

Knew it from the start.

First we lost Selwyn to Melbourne. Then noble to North. Lachie clearly wants out.

Then we delist guns like Keays, Witherden and Cutler to keep absolute DUDS like CEY and Birchall.

This club is absolutely ****ed. Neale clearly wants out.

Back to the dark old days. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

You rolled out the I told you so last October, why stop doing it now?
