Dougie Cochrane #3
  • You've probably all seen the highlights, now here's Dougie Cochrane's full SANFL league debut for Central Districts including some brilliant goals that had the crowd buzzing. An exciting moment for the early pick 1 favourite for 2026. He spent a lot of time on the bench this game with the Dogs coaches limiting his minutes given he's only freshly returned from a long injury layoff, but he didn't need a lot of time to leave a lasting impact in the memory of onlookers.

    Adam Sweid #8
  • A strong game from Sweid who was huge in the first quarter in helping his Cannons get off to a fast start. His work in contested situations was a real standout in this game. Super physical, clean hands at ground level, power through contact, ability to contort his body to get a disposal away and the peripheral vision to know where his outlet targets are.

    Xavier Taylor #2
  • Xavier Taylor has been a super consistent performer this season, sweeping across the back line and impacting in the air or ground level at every for every team he's represented and playing himself into first round contention. He was a wall here for Eastern, helping them steady and get back into the game after a difficult opening quarter, with his intercepts and rebounding run a feature.

    Willem Duursma #17
  • He's had bigger statistical performances, but this could be a game that helps to really boost Thrillem's pick one candidacy. His contested ball winning as a midfielder was hugely improved here, which makes his iffy kicking much more palatable, and his ability to swoop on loose balls and pace to burst away from congestion was as elite as always. His defensive activity was truly outstanding as he racked up 10 tackles among many other one percent efforts to disrupt the opposition.

    Cody Walker #9
  • A bit a return to earth for Cody in this game after his dominating exploits over the last few months. He had a change of role in the first half which might have contributed to his quieter game, shifting from his more customary midfield to playing wing and half back. He was back in the midfield in the second half but still a little more subdued. Still ended up with 23 disposals which would be fantastic output for most players. His kicking was quite wayward here and remains a point of improvement for him going forward.

    Mitch Marsh #4
  • Mitch Marsh continued with his change of roles in this one, playing mostly as a tall marking wingman with a few stints in the ruck and only a couple of rotations forward. It's an interesting move which suits his strengths and looks great when it works, but seems not to be entirely natural for Mitch yet who can get lost at times. With his status as a first round pick cemented due to his fantastic Champs campaign it's not a bad idea to experiment and show prospective clubs that he has some versatility to his game.

    Talor Byrne #5
  • Byrne is a dynamic performer at Talent League level, able to produce match winning displays as a midfielder or a forward. He was predominantly in the midfield this game, his physicality at stoppage a standout both in his ability to win the hard ball and his intensity to apply defensive pressure with multiple efforts. The more Bryne plays the further he continues to move up draft boards.

    Jake Miller #1
  • Jake Miller is an elite key forward prospect for the 2027 draft, only 16 years old but already having an impact at Talent League level and recently having had a fantastic run at the U16 Champs. Here we have a look at his Talent League debut from a few weeks ago, an extremely impressive performance that saw him named player of the week. Few make marking the footy look as easy as Jake does, with his size, quick judgement of the ball flight, and super clean hands.

    Gabriel Patterson #1
  • Gabriel Patterson has been getting some buzz as a bottom ager ahead of his draft year in 2026. He's an energetic small(ish) forward who attacks contests with intensity in the air or at ground level and applies strong defensive pressure. This game was a huge breakout performance for him, kicking 7 goals and looking impossible to stop whenever the ball was in his area.

    Hugo Mikunda #2
  • This was Mikunda's best performance of the Talent League season so far, racking up a huge amount of the footy and as is typical for him looking to attack with his disposals, pumping the ball inside F50 13 times for the game. He has a very high % of score involvements, but at times he can get overly ambitious with his decision making, a risk/reward style that can lead to a lot of turnovers.

    Cody Templeton #3
  • Cody started the game with a bang, laying tackles left and right and damaging with the ball. After appearing to have a bit of an awkward fall he looked sore and slowed down, but he was still a strong influence, kicking a couple of goals and creating for his teammates.

    Willem Duursma #18
  • Willem's second VFL ride was a thrill a minute. He was solid and positively impactful for the first 95% of the contest, disrupting opposition moves in the air and on the ground, then rebounding effectively with his team. He nearly cost Casey the game right at the death, giving away two holding the ball free kicks in a row, the second of which handed Brisbane a chance to win the game with a kick after the siren which they ultimately squandered.

    Lachy Dovaston #9
  • We've seen some excellent VFL performances from this year's draft crop and this was no exception. Dovaston proved that his game stands up to the higher level of competition, buzzing around with his typical energy, causing disruption to his opponents and setting up his teammates, having a hand in a number of scoring chains for Box Hill. He kicked a goal of his own and could have had more if he'd been a bit more accurate in front of goal.

    Aidan Schubert #5
  • Schubert gave everyone a reminder of why he's considered the premium tall forward in this draft pool with a dominant marking display as his Central Districts had a big win over West Adelaide. He took marks in the forward line and around the ground as his team's primary target and competed hard to bring the ball to ground on those few occasions he wasn't able to mark cleanly. He topped off his big game by hitting the scoreboard with 4 goals.

    Sam Harris #1
  • An early look at North Melbourne father-son prospect Sam Harris who was the dominant player in the first half of this game, racking up 16 disposals for the half and seemingly everywhere. Heavy squad rotation caused meant that he was moved out of the midfield in the second half and drifted out of the game, but his first half performance will no doubt have North supporters excited.

    Sam Grlj #7
  • A second impressive VFL performance from Grlj in helping the Tigers to a comfortable win against Sandringham. Although not quite reaching the heights of last week, Grlj was again impactful both in disrupting the oppositions attacking moves and in using his dash to rebound. What's perhaps been most impressive with this two game cameo has been his confidence in attacking the game and not taking a backwards step when it comes to the physical stuff against the more mature bodies at VFL level.

    Blake Oudshoorn-Bennier #4
  • BOB has been back in action for the last two weeks, playing SANFL reserves for North Adelaide and putting up strong numbers. Here he racked up a stack of the footy through the midfield, showing his pace, gut running to get from contest to contest and proving himself capable of matching it physically with the senior bodies at this level. His usually excellent kicking skills were a bit hit and miss in this one, but its good to see him getting somewhere near his best form after an injury interrupted campaign. He could be primed to make a late run up the draft ranks with a strong close to the season.

    Matthew LeRay #2
  • An excellent performance from LeRay who showed his positional versatility by playing as a third tall defender in this game. He used his height to disrupt in the air and then punished his less mobile opponents by running off them repeatedly to get involved in attacking moves higher up the ground.

    Marlon Neocleous #1
  • An exciting prospect for 2026, Marlon Neocleous had strong claims on BOG this game, playing predominantly through the midfield. His power and pace through the contest was a real standout feature of his game that helped him create space for himself or release his teammates on the outside. He played with an attacking mindset, creating a number of shots on goal and slotting two himself.

    Toby Whan #4
  • An enormous game from Whan in extremely difficult conditions. On a waterlogged deck, facing squalls of wind and rain, Whan's ability to remain clean with his hands and mostly constructive with his ball use was a real standout. He was everywhere, racking up an incredible 41 disposals and his 4 goals from midfield were a major factor in his team getting the win.

    Blake Justice #3
  • Justice has become a super consistent performer this season and showed some of the traits that have Essendon fans excited for his potential. Due to numbers rotating through midfield Justice only got a quarter on ball, but showed his versatility with time spent forward and on a wing. He makes things happen when he's around the ball, and his willingness to attack contests with physicality has become a trademark.

    Oskar Taylor #1
  • A look at one of Oskar Taylor's better performances of the season for Eastern. Oskar was mentioned on Gettable as a potential late draft bolter and this game shows the traits that could be turning the heads of recruiters. He's another in the contingent of rebounding defenders which is a real strength of this pool. He combines pace and ball skills, and while his kicking perhaps lacks the penetration of some, he has lovely balance and coordination with his technique which allows him kick at pace without compromising accuracy. His excellent reaction speed and clean hands at ground level allow him to swoop in quickly to clean up loose balls inside D50.

    Dale Sutherland #1
  • Another to add to the growing list of small and medium sized rebounding defenders that seem to make up half the 2025 draft pool. This was a huge game from Sutherland who's been putting together some outstanding performances in the Colts post Champs. Compared to others of his type in this pool, Sutherland is more disruptive defensively and has a better balance with his game. He's quick and athletic, excellent in the air for his size, and with ball in hand he backs himself to take on the game, break tackles and gain territory with run and solid kicking skills.

    Cooper Duff-Tytler #12
  • Another solid VFL debut performance from one of the 2025 draft contingent. CDT largely played forward with only occasional stints in the ruck. He showed his mobility to get around the ground, and ability to attack ground balls. He competed in the air but wasn't as clean with his hands in marking contests as you'd like which remains a bit of a concern for his prospects as a key forward, however he still found ways to impact and ended up with three goals in helping Essendon to a big win.

    Dyson Sharp #18
  • Sharp put together a strong performance here and was one of the Bulldog’s best in a narrow win over the Crows. He split his time pretty evenly between forward line and midfield, but it was his work in the midfield, especially at stoppage, that was most impressive. With his size and strength he’s difficult to contain in contested situations even against mature bodied men, and he used that physical advantage to accumulate a significant number of clearances, as well as tackling hard as he always does.
