Alveys could handle big loads, being dropped on rocks, cleaned in water and used on boat rods.Ive never really embraced the Alveys but a lot of the old blokes i know swear by them still. Penn's for me
Best surf casting reel ever made.Alveys could handle big loads, being dropped on rocks, cleaned in water and used on boat rods.
Surf rods with an alvey could be thrown a mile.
And Australian made.
Unbeatable

Either try and put some trevlliy in the freezer for chasing gummy’s or just go down to Princess peir and catch some pinkie’s to eat.
I’m in Melbourne
Awww, no fair. There should be a BS button for people who don't post pictures of thier catch
Dang. Now I really have to find that old shark photo. Everything but the 12 mullys.Hows the form back then. Alvey reels, pants optional, durry fitted for the photo, 12 huge mullys in 1 session. Gurus

Trainspotting Irvine Welsh or Irving × George Michael WHAM asterisk !I voted no because I don't want other people to be happy
Penn 9500 might not be as robust as the old Alveys but better drag setup and quicker retrieve. Ive got ones Ive had for probably 20-25 years and still going strong. Caught literally hundreds of gummys and schoolies with them over the journey.Best surf casting reel ever made.
A bit of interstate rivalry wouldn't go astray. What else would people be interested in seeing once this starts? I’m happy for suggestions.
Make sure you knock the fish on the head quick smart. Fish suffee asphyxiation for 22 minutes. Not sure if you know that .Awesome stuff mate. Eildon is about the only major impoundment i haven't fished yet. Most of my fishing is Mulwala/Hume/Burrunjuck but hunting a big slob cod from Eildon is on the list...hopefully in the next month or two if not next winter for sure!
