Buckley will play for another 3 or 4 years. It could even be a few more than that. He is in great form and his game has kept developing. The team is finally performing, his pay is only half counted in the salary cap so he is massive value for money cap wise and Collingwood are not over burdened with older players. If Buckley's form drops off next year he'll still be close to our best player. In the last few years he could easily play out of a forward pocket or HBF and be great value. He prepares himself like few others and he has sensational durability. His 2002 was his worst season since he arrived at Collingwood and yet he was still more than very servicable and won the Norm Smith Medal. Without the leg problems this year he will win another Copeland and has won the Brownlow. He is a driven person and I couldn't imagine he would remotely contemplate retirement.
