Raiders: Veteran fullback Jordan Rapana is back after missing four games with a knee injury so Albert Hopoate goes to 18th man. Josh Papali'i is named to start at prop but could revert to the bench on game day as he did in the win over Manly prior to the bye. Corey Horsburgh remains sidelined with a groin injury.
Bulldogs: Coach Cameron Ciraldo has named an unchanged 17 from the one that pushed the Panthers all the way in Round 10. After being 18th man last week, Blake Taaffe is listed among the reserves alongside Jake Turpin, Blake Wilson and Toby Sexton.

Sea Eagles: Tolu Koula has been named at fullback in place of Tom Trbojevic, who faces seven weeks out with a hamstring injury. Tommy Talau moves to the centres and Raymond Tuaimalo Veega comes in on the wing for his second NRL game of the season. Haumole Olakau'atu returns from suspension in the second row so Corey Waddell reverts to the bench and Toafofoa Sipley drops to the reserves. Back-up hooker Gordon Chan Kum Tong has been named despite suffering a head knock late in the match against the Dolphins.
Broncos: Jock Madden takes over at halfback having recovered from a pectoral injury while the absence of hooker Billy Walters (wrist) sees Tyson Smoothy promoted to starting No.9. The new face on the bench is Blake Mozer, who plays just his second career game and first of 2024.

Titans: Chris Randall and Sam Verrills are the new halves pairing with AJ Brimson (groin) and Kieran Foran (hamstring) both sidelined. Phil Sami (hamstring) and Harley Smith-Shields (pectoral) are also out so Alofiana Khan-Pereira and Aaron Schoupp join the backline. Erin Clark moves to hooker and Keenan Palasia and Joe Stimson join the bench. Palasia has been sidelined since Round 4 with a quad injury.
Knights: A foot injury to Tyson Gamble brings Jack Cogger into the side at five-eighth while Jacob Saifiti is back from a leg injury to fill the void left by brother Daniel's suspension for a Careless High Tackle. Fullback David Armstrong has been named to play despite suffering a head knock late in the game against Wests Tigers.

Sharks: A huge boost for the ladder leaders with Nicho Hynes named to return after missing the Storm game with calf tightness. Blayke Brailey goes back to hooker, Cam McInnes to lock and Jack Williams to the bench with Braden Hamlin-Uele making way. Braydon Trindall has been included on the extended interchange, providing cover in the halves should Hynes fail to come up.
Roosters: With Joey Manu entering the NRL concussion protocol, Junior Pauga is promoted from 18th man to start in the centres. Hooker Brandon Smith returns after missing Round 10 with a calf injury so Connor Watson reverts to the bench. Sandon Smith is serving a one-game suspension.

Rabbitohs: Prolific tryscorer Alex Johnston returns from a hamstring injury for his first game since Round 4 while Jacob Gagai is also back on deck from a calf injury on the other wing. Gehamat Shibasaki moves to 18th man, Izaac Tu’itupou Thompson shifts to the centres and Michael Chee Kam is out. Taane Milne has been added to the bench in his return from suspension with last week's debutant Matt French dropping to the reserves.
Cowboys: Todd Payten welcomes back winger Murray Taulagi and prop Jordan McLean from hamstring injuries. Semi Valemei sustained an ankle injury against the Titans and is set for surgery later this week. Thomas Mikaele moves to the bench and Harrison Edwards makes way.

Warriors: Mass changes for Andrew Webster with Shaun Johnson (pectoral), Roger Tuivasa-Sheck (hamstring) and Freddy Lussick (concussion protocols) all missing. Taine Tuaupiki joins the side at fullback, Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad shifts to five-eighth and Te Maire Martin moves to halfback. Wayde Egan will start at hooker and Jacob Laban joins the bench. A change in the centres with Ali Leiataua replacing Rocco Berry, who is set to miss two games with a fractured hand..
Panthers: Jarome Luai will take over at halfback in the absence of Nathan Cleary (hamstring) and youngster Jack Cole comes in at five-eighth. Izack Tago's return from a one-game suspension pushes Paul Alamoti to 18th man. Matt Eisenhuth and Daine Laurie have been added to the bench with Liam Henry sidelined due to concussion. Scott Sorensen is listed among the reserves and could be a late inclusion as he works his way back from a knee injury.

Storm: Xavier Coates' return from a hamstring injury pushes Grant Anderson to 18th man in the only change to the side that went down to the Sharks. Chief playmaker Jahrome Hughes remains sidelined with a calf injury but is a chance to return in Round 12.
Eels: Mitch Moses remains sidelined with a foot injury so Dylan Brown will continue to fill the No.7 role. Daejarn Asi gets another shot at five-eighth after wearing the No.6 jersey in Round 6 and 7 while Bryce Cartwright (ribs) is back on deck. Brendan Hands and Ethan Sanders are the men to make way from the 17 that went down to the Broncos in Round 10.

Wests Tigers: Alex Seyfarth and Alex Twal come into the starting side for John Bateman (pectoral) and Isaiah Papali'i (suspended). With Starford Toa (hamstring) also out, Brent Naden moves to the centres and Solomon Alaimalo comes in on the wing. Debutant Sione Fainu and Asu Kepaoa are the new men on the bench.
Dolphins: Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow's return from a hamstring injury sees livewire Trai Fuller drop to 18th man while Kenny Bromwich returns to the starting side at lock in place of Max Plath (head knock).

I know there's been a hell of a lot of rain in Australia lately, but for a showpiece ground, the Suncorp pitch is a bit of a pudding, isn't it?

That's the problem in Australia; in England, it works OK (e ven though not everyone is fond of it), because it's played on a neutral ground, and the distances are more realistic.

Heard Manly (and another club that's slipped my mind) have opted out of using a home game at this round from next year.

The NRL offer clubs $350k to host it as a home game.

I have always hated that Brisbane get an 'away' game as part of this.
Brisbane and Adelaide clubs getting an away game is a joke.

Great response, super helpful.
This is a confusing post, rather than I am confused......

They being the ones that you said hate to take ip off the NRL. The AFL had a kneejerk reaction to the NRL being in Vegas. If they hate it so much, there wouldn't be these 2 pretty major reactions to recent NRL moves.

They absolutely ****ing hate it, hence making the note that the move was so good the AFL had to get over its natural aversion to taking the IP.

This is big brother adopting an idea little brother came up with (Magic Round/Gather Round).

Vegas isnt really relevant IMO. The AFL hasnt tried any Vegas moves yet (unless you count the China game which was horribly considered and executed).

Pretty sure Adelaide clubs are the home side and it’s also an extra round so doesn’t really take away from anyone’s home games, unlike this joke.

It’s nothing more than an opportunity for the NRL to prop up Brisbane, otherwise they’d take it on the road.

By Vegas they’d be referring to the AFLs opening round rubbish in Sydney and Brisbane, but the week after cos the AFL are morons.

I'm fairly certain it's to appease the QLD'ers for not getting the GF. It's what those in the industry are spouting at least.

I remain unconvinced that Savage (and half his team-mates) weren't offside from that kick. And Manly benefitting from a ridiculous forward pass. Deserved win for the Raiders, though. They have some talent in those two young halves.
