Thank goodness, that was a shocking spectacle. If they have to do a womens game it has to be SOO or a GF rematch from the previous season.
Are they even in season? Obviously the NRLW starts much later but I assume they'd play locally as well?

You announce it when the other games are and you make sure they are. Surely they have been playing locally or pre season anyway. Vaguely follow a podcast and they are training already, it's a few roosters players on the pod, not sure what training that is though

Sharks getting the Titans Week 1 is marvelous.

No women's game this year.

I think they felt it was too much having 4 games on a day for those in attendance. Which is probably fair, that's a lot of football.
The way it was positioned was wrong as well. Wedged between the NRL games. With LV being a place where once you leave, you can’t reente. People weren’t going to wait around for the last game after the one sided game that was shown by the females.

Yep, absolutely.

I'm not against the women playing there but I think it has to be at the expense of the Super League game, not in addition to it.

Unless they decide to do a 2 day event maybe.

Frankly its weird they havent, have a womens game (rep or whatever) and a Super League game each day to compliment the NRL ones, i assume its too costly for the comp but it would be a better showcase.

Yeah, they won't make that mistake again with the women's game. Obviously the NRL think there is long-term advantage in this; haven't they signed up for a few years? I just wonder if the only trajectory is downwards, as both the NRL and SL sides figure it's more of a hurdle than anything else. Anyway, I'll be surprised if anyone puts on a show like Wigan did last year! Horrible narrow pitch too.

Well my prediction, FWIW, and I could be way out, is that both NRL and SL sides will become increasingly unenthusiastic about more games, to say the least. Meanwhile fans at home lose out?

Bears v Manly would be the dream. Start off with the old rivalry.

They might and Manly won't be great so possibly. Think they may hold that back till a few weeks in though
As I seem to be the only Manly supporter on this board, I will say I am very worried about the team this year and next.

And being set up to lose to the Bears in round 1 2027, either in Vegas, or perth seems like our unfortunate destiny.

I don't follow closely enough to know if we've got some young guns coming through but the squad doesn't look great.

You have a really good 7 coming through bae is escaping me unfortunately but Fogarty there for a couple of years while he develops

Thanks Luke.

Joey Walsh

Knew the name would come to me.

Be very interesting how long they wait to introduce him to first grade. Played in the trip against South Sydney

Not doubting you but why do you think that?

Seems to have gotten the best out of Olakalatu and Koula.

They just seem light on in the forwards from my limited view.
Certainly light on in forwards.

The Trbojevic’s are problematic now. Jake is well past it and Tom just cannot stay fit. I think you’re just lacking some class that can consistently perform now.

Oh sorry, as for the coach, I’ve never rated Seibold.

Incredibly intelligent individual but I think he’s poor in his man management skills and I don’t think he’s particularly adept at the tactical side either. He talks a very good game but im not sure he can back that up.

Jake is such a warrior.

But he must be a chance of a concussion retirement.

Although it would make them even lighter in the forwards, I would have preferred he retired on his own terms.

That helmet will do absolutely nothing to help with concussion. At best it will help with glancing blows.

I think a strong Manly is good for the comp. I’m really not seeing it at the moment though.

Could be a tough year for Manly. Although i think the coach is the biggest issue.

That and the million dollar fullback thinking he’s one when he breaks down every two games

I see Kaeo Weekes tearing it up for the Raiders and wonder what might have been.

Always a few weird stories like this. Broncos letting go of Smith coming through was a pearler.

Knights will be better than a few think this season
