Out of that whole list Bassett is the one I'd really like to see here.

That wasn't as bad as Stinger made it out to be.

What i meant was why tweet anything at all?

What he wrote is actually tame for Tex, but I dont understand why he'd tweet anything at all (with reference to the supporters) when his team mates have just embarrassed themselves.

Dumb.

As much as I like to give Tex flak for being a vocal dumbass you can tell he's an incredibly passionate player and member of AFC and will more than likely finish his time as a player there. Aware that many people have a huge problem with the way the players are performing currently, but Adelaide needs people like Tex pointing out follies within the club in order for it to improve, even if it does seem misdirected. Although indirect, I'd probably say this is a good comment on the current state of Adelaide's official cheer squad, which (if I recall correctly) a fair few on here had an issue with and I've had a lot of Crows mates criticize as well.

We know it's not villainous from Tex though. Bit of judgement required here.

I've actually lost my joy in football. Completely. My level of investment was 4 x Gold memberships (one from when I was 5 years old at inception, one for my wife who doesn't even follow us and one for a mate who rarely can go) which continued when I moved interstate even though I knew I'd be attending a maximum of 2 games a year. Add to that the fact I purchased a guernsey each year (up to the abomination of a new logo) simply to give the club funds. I used to attend most Vic away games too (when I was still a native).

That transitioned to 0 merchandise purchased upon changing to the logo just because velociraptor. It then evolved to cancelling all memberships with a letter to the club after the Tippett saga and a whole pile of anger. Fast forward to today and honestly this is terrible but I actually didn't care. I wasn't shocked nor outraged. I watched on not in disbelief but moreso with a sense of inevitability. The worst part? This isn't even rock bottom (not even close) The boys club will ride this out because they're huge fish in a miniscule pond. They control the media in SA. People in Victoria don't give a **** about us anymore so none of this matters to them. We'll just keep coasting along.

I used to thrive on banter with my mates via text/email/workplace. Now they rib me and I generally just agree with what's said because most of it is true. I copped 4 texts relating to today within 15 minutes of the game finishing and I genuinely didn't care. There was no thrill for me even when we were a goal down with a quarter to go. Footy used to be my hobby and I'd watch almost every game of the round (work/study permitting). Now I can go weeks on end without seeing anything other than what the Crows dish up. I'll always be loyal to whoever pulls on the hideous guernsey but our admin has killed what was once my life and in many ways turned it into a routine afterthought and for that I'll always hate them.

The epitome for me was watching Bernie (a man who needed a kick up the ass at times there's no denying) but who loved the club and was pushed out just so we could appear semi involved and draft a kid who rightfully should be ours anyway if we're not sanctioned. Watching him interviewed today was painful - it's pretty clear he still loves the club. His form wasn't always great, he underperformed at times but was well liked and would be perfect to play Reserves footy and made an example of if he needed to pull the finger out. Instead he finishes his career at Melbourne and effectively loses his job with us. Another victim of Tippettgate whilst the true culprits remain employed.

I'll still watch. I'll still call myself a supporter. Doesn't feel like it though. Everything's changed. **** the admin and thank god for ice hockey.

Great post.

I'm losing hope as well. Media must attack the club.

Stinger is spot on. Big tex needs to learn when to keep his trap shut. The darkest hour in our history and where ever i turn on social media the supporters seem to be copping it for the teams shit performance what the **** are we suppose to do. 2 goals in a half of footy against the worst side of the last 50 years and you want me to yell like a ****n idiot . please.

I don't think Tex meant any harm.

He strikes me as a lad who'd fit in well on the hill if he wasn't playing. Give the bastard a beer and he'll be ripping it out all game. Things he says aren't always the best thought out, but he's bloody passionate.

If any other player tweeted that ppl would be up in arms. I know he ment no harm but it just dumb to bait the supporters after an effort like that.

Oh dear, that's a bit melodramatic isn't it?

Well sure, if you remove the statement from it's context it would be received differently.

There were several in the Craig final years that matched that on every level.
Not even close. When we got smashed by the likes of Melbourne at the end of Craig's tenure, we were already at the bottom of the barrel. We were just waiting for the axe to fall at long last.

Whereas here we were 3-3 and even though nobody had any delusions that we were legitimate contenders, we had an opportunity to stamp our foot on a club and announce that we were sick of playing rubbish football.

Instead we wilted in the most embarrassing fashion imaginable, and then decided to put an effort in for about 40 minutes just to prove that we did have the skills and talent necessary to win... we just didn't care enough to try.

The pea hearts cannot even sustain a run of more than 3 wins against the most ordinary opposition in the league. The admin are pea hearts, the coaches are pea hearts and they have made the players pea hearts.

They're diving into contests in numbers ineffectually, this shows a complete lack of confidence, they are unwilling to back players one on one in contests, they feel the need to try and outnumber the opposition in contests and do not leave anyone outside for when the ball is won. If the ball is won it doesn't go anywhere, if the ball is lost the opposition have free players across the ground to rebound and score. It is a sympton of being a pea hearted club.

Oh and all the handballing around within contests leaving a player to finally kick the ball under pressure. 22 Individuals, not a team. It has been like this every round so far.
