Get GWS, Carlton, GC, Lions and Swans involved.

GWS would want a 1st rounder for Leek Aleer from St Kilda, Carlton will need to offload their compensation pick from TDK for Harry Dean (FS), GC, Lions and Swans will offload their 1st rounders for more points.

Port will offload their 2026 1st rounder and trade whatever future picks; no 2027 1st rounder though and bundle it for draft picks this year and send it to one of Blues, Lions, GC and Swans.

Port gets Nas and still keeps their 2027 1st rounder AND Butters at the very least.😤
something like this is how it will happen

Not really. I just wanted to see if you guys had any info, as the media has nothing atm. When Battle left last year, there was talk of Battle meeting with Sam Mitchell etc
Sam Mitchell is a shameless flog. Got busted with Oscar Allen this year too.

StKilda losing Nas to only gain Aleer is just ridiculous.

One is worth multiple first round picks, the other only a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

One is now a star of the competition, the other a fringe player at GWS who only plays when either of the preferred Key Backs are not available.

Port do not have the picks to gain Nas. If Nas did nominate PA, you will have to lose a quality player/s.

Maybe don't offer Leek Aleer 700k over 5 years if you think he's worth a 2nd or 3rd round pick mate. I'd be shocked if GWS were willing to accept a 2nd rounder. Port would happily give up 2 firsts and a second rounder in a 3 way deal that'll land you Aleer + 2 firsts, GWS their 2nd round pick and Port NWM.

It'll be fascinating if Port finish below Saints (which I expect them to). The threat of PSD could be real with this one.

Regardless he's out of contract and has had one stellar season.

I'd be shocked if GWS were willing to accept a 2nd rounder.

Prepare to be shocked.

Look at other GWS to St Kilda trades or other Clubs:

  • Josh Bruce's as a 21-year-old defender traded to the Saints by Greater Western Sydney in exchange for pick 41.
  • Jack Steele traded for a future second-round pick.

So how many GWS fringe players get better than a 2/3 round s pick?

Peatling went to Crows for not much as well. While he played 19 games for GWS in his last season it includes 9 games as activated substitute.

Isaac Cumming who was a GWS regular in their firsts when not injured was traded for Pick 21 to the Crows.

You are confusing contract price with acquisition trade value, and for fringe players the trade cost is never high.
.
St Kilda are paying overs to lure players, which is reality of being a rebuilding team.
Macrae cost high $$$, but trade cost was cheap. TDK is $$$$$$$$$$$ but trade cost is zero.

You do not pay overs in both $$$ and draft cost unless the player is a Gun. Nas is now a Gun.

Josh Bruce was an average player when he got traded. Leek Aleer is not average and is a first round draft pick. He's only not playing because they have 3 awesome KPDs in front of him one of which is best in the comp.

Peatling was a MSD draft pick that had 1 season of putting some runs on the board and being out of contract. Completely different situation to Leek.

Cumming was someone that barely got on the park. At the time, in the 2024 draft, pick 21 is a high trade value for him in my eyes.

Aleer is a fringe player in a side that has great tall defenders.

The McRae example is a bad one because of the age difference. Aleer is on the up and nowhere near his ceiling whereas McRae is past his peak. Dogs didn't have a spot for him and didn't want his wages on the books. Not the case with Leek at all, GWS want to keep him whilst they can't guarantee a spot.

TDK you're paying overs only because he's a free agent. Leek Aleer is out of contract which is different.

In this draft, if GWS accept a 2nd round pick then that'll be a bad piece of business for them.

Mind you, if they take a 2nd rounder in the next 2 draft in 2027 and 2028 then that'd be more suitable given they look much stronger.

We spent weeks hearing this from North fans when JHF nominated us. They were wrong. And JHF was contracted.

Thanks for your input dude, but you are wrong with every statement you have made. Better start preparing to be utterly underwhelmed, will make it easier for you when it actually happens in a couple months time.

C4 has risen from the dead

'He wants to come home, but I think he’s playing it smart by staying quiet for now - waiting to see if a trade is actually feasible before making anything decision public and risking alienating the fanbase in case he has to stay.'

C4 also confirming Port Adelaide is his preference
