Meanwhile on the Saints board they are discussing whether losing Nasiah would be worth it to get Butters...

One suggestion I saw was Butters + first round pick for NWM.
The delusion over there is breathtaking.

Yea I’ve had a bit of a read the last couple weeks over there. I think it’s pretty obvious the football IQ levels of the majority of their posters is extremely low. They just seem like a bunch of Facebook happy clappers without a clue in the world.

They’re certainly not alone in the delusional stakes. If NWM decides to call Port home, it’s going to come with a very hefty price tag attached.

He is clearly the Saints best player and arguably the standout HB of the entire competition.

Id have sinclair ahead, but Nas will overtake him soon.

Does he take overhead intercept marks? Genuinely curious as I actively avoid watching Saint Kilda games.

It would just make the trade deal last year even more pointless.

“We drafted Berry because we rate him highly, but we’re gonna put him on the trade table after one season”.

People here are writing him off after seven games. Look he needs to improve his output and get his game going but seriously, people ought to take a step back and chill.
I'm not writing him off, he could be very good and I hope he makes it.

But if he unlocks the NWM trade you do it in a heartbeat. Ruthlessness wins premierships.

The copium getting around that place is what takes their breath away. They cling on to semi-competent footballers like they're rolled gold superstars of the comp, but I feel this has something to do with their delusion:

You'd have to be to still be a St Kilda supporter wouldn't you? It's like they've been coached by a conga line of Hinkleys since 1966.

Butters is ridiculous a trade suggestion but a future first being enough is equally as ridiculous.

I just can’t see it getting done.
It would involve two future firsts at a minimum. If we’re getting Dougie and Pilot (and if they are as good as people say), then I don’t have an issue with it.

If they aren’t happy, then we should do a Geelong/Collingwood and get his manager to blackmail them into accepting a shitty deal.

Something gets done.

He’s out of contract. We won’t be asking permission from St Kilda for him to leave.

We can do 2 first round picks but for mine that’s too high.

2 first round picks and something back might be fair but that’s about as reasonable as it gets.

We can’t trade Farrell because he won’t agree to it.

You throw Dougie into that line up in a couple of years and there will never have been that many elite kicks in the one line up.

If NWM is taking Farrell’s role in the team I reckon he happily returns home. Landing NWM would be massive, I’d be up and about for Port for the first time in near on a decade.

In all seriousness how do we trade for him without Bergman?

Yes but under the new model, you would need 4 picks between 20 and 30 to match a bid at pick 5. After 30 the points fall away rapidly. With the Tassie compromised draft, those 20-30 picks are all going to be in the first round still so will be hard to get hold of from other clubs.

See the table here:

Yeah they’ve gone too far really.

F1 (2027) + Berry.

Will essentially make the trade 1st rounder plus Houston for nwm which makes our trading look as shit as I’ve often said

Absolutely no need to push Farrell out if NWM wants to come. One of them easily could slot into a wing role, preferably Farrell. You then have Rozee and NWM as your two half backs, which is devastatingly good. Trumps the GWS elite combo of Whitfield and Ash.

I would trade Houston and a first rounder for NWM in a heartbeat.

He takes a few, is rated above average bordering on elite for marks in his position.

NWM is currently sitting at number 23 in the AFL player ratings, Butters sits 9th, while Rozee is our next best at 46th.

Ed Richards is numero uno.

For those still depressed about Dan Houston, he’s currently sitting in 187th position.

Yeah, i think he's actually surprisingly good in 1v1 situations, and intercepting. A bit like Houston.

He isn't all offence, there is a nice defensiveness to his game
