He could go to the crows and win 2 or 3 flags in the next few years or come to Port and deal with the shell of a once proud club. Benefits of Port is that there is limited desire for the ultimate success, so he could coast and still get shitloads of money. St
Stop talking shit PAP. Seriously you talk up the courtroom born mob far too much

That may be so but I think we are about 2-3 years away from challenging the better sides. There's.
No depth anywhere
As I've stated in a lot of threads, a good gameplan will make everyone better.

The best example is Lord who always looks lost out there. If we have a good gameplan and he knows what he's fundamentally meant to do, he might be a good player.

I feel a guy like Sinn has not been used to his potential.

I think there is depth in the team that Hinkley has not used. He's just played his gold passes. Remember Fevans and Narkle played finals and were delisted a week later. Boak getting games. Mead not looking the goods but playing.

Imagine if Lorenz, Hugh Jackson and a few others had 20 games under their belts. We might be saying we have better depth.

Hopefully Carr can bring in a few cheapies this off season to really get some competition for spots.

This was a big win for the crom-
The Gold Coast SUNS have facilitated a trade with the Adelaide Crows for young forward Izak Rankine.

In exchange for Rankine, the SUNS have acquired the Crows’ pick 5 in the 2022 NAB AFL Draft and both Adelaide’s future third and fourth-round draft picks.

In return the SUNS have also sent Adelaide pick 46 and Fremantle’s future fourth-round draft selection gained from the Dockers in the trade for Josh Corbett.
That’s not a win as such but his value as a out of contract player.

Nas is about the same.

Andrew joined PAFC in 1993, playing in the under age sides after he played seniors in the NTFL's 1992-93 season. he turned 17 in August 1993. A few years ago I did a deep dive on how the **** Freo had rights to him to do the Froome trade.

Bucky signed him up after he was BOG in a 1993 Teal Cup game where NT beat one of the Victorian teams. Bucky took a punt that if we get the licence in 1996 we could sign him up. But he was too good to wait around for 2 years. He was a big Michael Long / Essendon fan.

If we went into the AFL in 1991 we would have relied on AFL concession rules at the time. Who knows at the time what they would have been.

If we got the same rules the crows got then we would have had no rights to him. The crows got the SANFL as a zone for 1990 and 1991 drafts and they first entered the 1992 mid season draft followed by the 1992 national draft. Under those rules we would have had no rights to McLeod.

Part of Freo's initial concession rights in 1994 signing/trade/draft period for their inaugural squad, was they could take 2 players in the SANFL outside of the draft as well as 2 from both VFL and TFL and unlimited players from WAFL as well as 10 or 12 uncontracted AFL players over 2 years. We got nothing as good as that in 1996. After he played in Port's 1994 flag, Freo's recruiters told Neesham they should take him under these rules.

Freo flew McLeod and his father to Perth to meet Neesham, who had never seen him play. McLeod was insulted by Neesham asking him to stand up so he could see how tall he was and that Freo's set up was so new and so poor and behind what Port had at the time. He said he's not interested, so Freo traded the rights to him to the crows for Chris Froome who was a promising KPF, but would only last a year at Freo, be traded to North and then do his ACL and have ongoing knee injuries. Froome only racked up 24 games in 6 seasons for 3 clubs. It became the biggest dud trade in AFL history.

So I have no idea how you can definitively say he would have played for us if we got in, into the AFL in 1991.
He had a taste of Port while at Alberton, especially at a young age. He would have been more drawn to us, than the other mob. You would think he’d have more mates at Port.

2 Firsts. 1 being future. More than enough for a back pocket. Just get it done and move on.

This is my view. 2 firsts is more than enough.

I agree

2 firsts is more than we’ve ever received for any player that’s left our club in nearly 3 decades

What about 1 first, Ollie Wines, Ivan Soldo and Jed McEntee?

You want Jed, you'll have to fight TeeKray

Their season literally finishes in ten days time (as does ours).

He’s leaving it awfully late to simply sign back on with StKilda. It’s possible he does sign with them but you’ve gotta ask yourself why hasn’t he done that already.

Even allowing for his manager playing the three clubs off against each other it’s mid August.

It feels like its now gone past the point where hes going to re-sign, but Boaks 2012 contract wasnt announced until 5th Sept, so there has been an example of a much sought after player signing this late

My memory is Boak had agreed to re-sign in late July that year and it was complicated by the Primus sacking in early Ausgust and then he waited for a period after that as Port looked for a new coach.

I think it would have happened a month earlier without the Primus sacking.

Haha. Healy is pretty well connected at St Kilda. Was a big fan as a kid and over the years has done work with them.

If he is jumping at shadows, sounds like the Saints are spooked.
He isn’t connected in the slightest.

If Rooey starts to shit himself. That’s the one you would pay attention to.

He even said so himself on Monday that he talks to people at the club and he refutes all the stories from earlier in the week.
