What CD or band do you have on repeat ATM? Does anyone else go through huge phases where there is always a CD you put on first, nearly regardless of moods?

I am getting into bands I missed the boat on (or flat out didn't like) in the 90's.

Sepultura. I listened to Roots flat out for a month, bought the rest of 'em.

Alice In Chains (I have only got unplugged, and on the strength of this CD alone they are laughably better than Nirvana).

Soilwork got a huge flogging mid year.

At The Gates - Slaughter of The Soul is no.1 right now.

Any embarrasing ones?

I recieved Poison's greatest hits as a birthday present (smart arse girlfriend) and listen to it more than occasionly

:o

ATM I have Christina Aguliera and Beyonce's albums on repeat. Everytime I get in the car their albums go on. Didn't like Beyonce's at the start but know I love it. Christina's "Stripped" album is the best I've bought this year.

Tools Aenima, Radioheads Ok Computer and At the drive In's Relationship of Command are the base of which my listening is based.

By the way, its great to have Radiohead finally touring after 5 years....Shame they couldnt extend their tour to Brizroy but it just means a quick tour to Melbourne for their show. Im sacrificing Big Day Out for Radiohead next year(just brought new house gotta make decision).

Also, Queens of the Stoneage are playing in Brizroy 4 Jan. Get better

Wkaser

The ones I play more often than others are :
Matchbox 20 -More Than You Think You Are
John Farnham - One Voice
Meatloaf - Couldn't have Said It Better
Bon Jovi - This Left Feels Right

I've just got Cold Chisels 'Ringside Live' CD and that'll be on high rotation.

Bwahahahaaa

I've been listening to Novembre's "Novembrine Waltz", the first LotR soundtrack, and Sibelius' 3rd symphony a lot recently.

At the moment the cds that have had heavy rotation in my player the last two weeks have been:

Sevendust - Animosity
Sevendust - Seasons
Hatebreed - The Rise Of Brutality

SamBass - Brazilian Style Drum n Bass
Sander Kleinenberg - Everybody, Its a Renaissance
Defected - In The House
Hed Kandi - World Series 1

in regards to alice in chains dude, just wait until you hear DIRT. imo the best album to emerge from the whole seattle movement. in fact it is easily the best album released in the 90's if not ever.
absolutely brilliant album.
btw FACELIFT and their self titled album(the one with a three legged dog on the cover) are also excellnt albums although not quite as good as DIRT.
to add to your initial request for this thread i have currently got Pink Floyd's The Wall in very heavy rotation.have been listening to this album on - off for the past 15 years. one of the few albums that i never get sick of.

Now we're talkin Turkey!!!!!!!!!

Angry, angry men.

At the moment 'Grace' by Jeff Buckley has been in my CD player for about a week now, I bought it in late '95 and it's found its way back into my elite collection.

I play Nada Surf's "Let Go" almost daily
I bought the Fugees "The Score" again recently (sold it years back)
I listen to architecture in Helsinki's "Kindling" ep a fair bit
I have the new Basement Jaxx album in my car...still tying to get into that one

I've got Ministry of Sound 2004 Annual on all the time atm. I think my folks are going insane with the nice big bass :p Otherwise, John Mayer's Haveir Things and Powderfinger's Odyssey No 5.

Went through a ridiculous Living Colour phase recently. Hadn't even thought of them for a couple of years, then inspired by the recent release of their comeback album "CollideOscope", i then reminded myself why they were such an essential band for over 10 years.

Have also been thrashing Magic Dirt's recent effort "Tough Love". Much maligned band, but those who shun their new stuff on the basis of deploring their old stuff (in some cases very justified) are doing themselves a huge diservice. Great album.

Also been giving The Police a fair flutter lately. Went on a holiday recently and took their best of with me, and geez they make great beer drinking music around the pool!!

In years gone by, i almost became mentaliy ill-adjusted such was the extent with which i immersed myself in Sepultura. Changed my personality for a while there! Tool weren't far behind, in particular the Untertow and Aenema albums.

smart, smart man - that CD hasn't l;eft my cd changer in the car for over 2 and a half years.
(It's a toss up between 'Blinded by Fear' and 'Nausea' as to the best song though!)

Been going through a Morbid Angel phase the last few weeks (except the godawful Gateways album).

'Altars' is still my fave, but they're all awesome (for different reasons).

The new one isn't bad - production is a little odd, but having recently read a few interviews with resident strangeoid Trey, I'm not too surprised!

I love Altars of Madness, it's pure insanity. But I find Blessed are the Sick to be the stronger album overall.

I haven't heard Heretic yet, but if it's as good as Gateways, I'll have to pick it up.

Morbid Angel are probably the best pure death/thrash band around at the moment, especially after Suffocation called it quits.

Fair call - can't really beat 'Day of Suffering' to get me going.

The best gig I've EVER been to was when MA toured for Blessed. The gig was at the Enmore theatre (Sydney), and it was like descending into hell - I've been to a lot of gigs over the years, but the energy at that show was absolutely ferocious.
All of the chairs in the front were ripped up, and people just went absolutely feral.
(The first time Slayer came out would be a close second I guess, and quite similar in crowd reaction).

Lost the tour shirt a couple of years ago though - even though it was absolutely shredded from being worn so much!
:(

I hated Gateways - too freakin slow, odd production. Just not a fan I'm afraid.
Heretic has some good stuff on it, but as I said, the guitars sound a little odd in places. But hell, it has a great Pete Sandoval drum solo so who can complain about that?!

Was surprised when I went back through their catalogue that there was some really good stuff on FFF. Never really rated it at the time (probably cause Dave Vincent had left), but some quality speedy stuff on offer.
Covenant too - I remember it seemed a bit 'samey' when it was released, but there is some really strong stuff on it.

Did they?;)
Suffo are back baby!
