Expansion Ode to "Australia's Game"

I love a sporting country
A land of many games
Of Rugby League and Union,
Cricket, and other funny names

Of Soccer or is it "Football"
As some like to say
Of Basketball, Hockey and Tennis
Even Frisbee we like to play

There's Netball, Surfing and Bowls
Sports of all persuasion
Such a cultural diversity
Which helps to describe a nation

They come from far horizons
All from overseas
They have so much to offer
All promising to please

Sports I haven't mentioned
I apologize for that!
But the purpose of this poem
Is to record a noble fact

I love Australian Rules
From Brisbane to West Coast
The game born in this country
The one I love the most

From Tassie to the Top End
And everywhere in between
But the AFL can only represent this game
When these two get a team

I have a vision for 2020
Strange though it may seem
NT and Tassie in the AFL
Is it only just a dream ?
