Best coach per club?

Adelaide - Blight
Brisbane - Matthews
Carlton - Parkin
Collingwood - McHale not that anyone can remember
Essendon - Sheedy
Fremantle - Lyon
Geelong - Thompson over Scott
Gold Coast - meh
GWS - Cameron, but not for much longer.
Hawthorn - Clarkson
Melbourne - Smith
North Melbourne - Barassi over Fagan
Port Adelaide - Williams
Richmond - Hafey
St Kilda - Jeans
Sydney - Roos over Longmire
West Coast - Malthouse
Western Bulldogs - Beveridge over Sutton

Hardwick has a better flag strike rate with multiple flags. Should be the Hardwick Medal and McHale Medal should be for the person who coaches the VFL flag as he was a VFL coach.

Thats sweet. If the medal is for dismantling your club by destroying those you are meant to love and care for then the medal must be named after Hardwick.

Colemans record at Essendon would have been pretty good

2 flags in the 60s - Ess were very strong in the 60s - basically in the finals most years - his win /loss record youd think would be good

And he only coached them for say 6-7 years because Jack Clarke was coach in 68 when they made the GF

Some of these other coaches quoted coached for an eternity , 20 plus years

Honourable mention to Dennis Pagan at North , because they were going nowhere , they lost that game in Adelaide by 100 plus points , they sacked their coach , brought in Pagan and he had an instant impact , they became a very good side and won 2 Premierships

Of course I'll say Clarkson. But after reading an article about Norm Smith that appeared in the GF Replay Record of 2010 (they had five days to put out another nearly 200 page record, amazing job!), you'd be hard pressed to argue against that guy...

Reg Hickey over both of them as great as Bomber and Scotty have been Reg was

If Geelong win the flag this year it will be hard to argue against Chris Scott being on the top 5

No it's not read the previous posts. Plus it doesn't mention that in the thread title
Re-read my post you quoted!!!

I said clearly best per club... & I repeated it then in my last post... so I assume you are just being a pain in the arse... given you quoted me originally not the other way around.

It really isn't a hard concept that Clarkson had more flags at the Hawks.

No-one is disputing Clarko has more flags at Hawthorn, but if that is the only metric then there’s really no need for the discussion.
