I'm sure he was talked about as a leading candidate for some past AFL coaching jobs but didn't get them. Was caretaker coach of Richmond after Wallace was sacked.

I remember him as a player. Ended up as a full forward, but I think he played key position back for a few years.

Been through a lot of clubs though? Sacked by North Melbourne in 2020 but they were a basket case under Rhyce Shaw.

Was never at a finals competing club at AFL level. Good 2nds experience though.

Just worried about getting an Anthony Rock 2.0.

Well Kingsley was an assistant to Richardson at the saints for like 8 years , never playing finals and they were about as mediocre as an AFL side can get….

I hear what your saying (tho your example of Anthony rock is quite selective and frankly very poor comparison)but I think a very big underrated experience for assistant coaches /wannabe head coaches is having previous head coach experience (both AFL and obviously SANFL in Rawlings case and in the latter quite successful at that.

I always remember clarko mention it as a big factor for assistant coaches looking to take a step up (shit bloke but his record and that of producing good assistants who went onto be top coaches in their own right was impressive)

Happy enough with this appointment, were always up against it in this space and seems the clubs done about as good as it can .

Guessing (hopefully) Curley announced soon too
