Official Arsenal vs. Spurs Match Thread.

Any predictions?

Vieria still isn't playing due to injury, Spurs are hovering around in mid-table/12th position, and are coming off a loss to Bolton at home, while Arsenal should have some confidence back after finally winning a Champion's League match this season.

Prediction: Arsenal 2 - 0 Spurs; Henry, Aliadiere

As a lifelong Spurs fan, I feel obliged to come in here and tell all you Arsenal fans that the Shelf, the Paxton and the Park Lane End were all much tougher than the North Bank, let alone those little skinheads up the Clock End.

Looking at the two sides:

Arsenal are at home, in the Top Three and the Champions League. They have consistently performed well over many years, have an excellent manager, a team of star players, one of the best strikers in Europe and no obvious weaknesses.

Spurs on the other hand have never risen above mid-table mediocrity for years and were flattered by only losing 1-0 at home to Bolton last week with JJ Okocha hitting the bar 3 times. We have no manager, the caretaker is trying to get the job on a full time basis by getting as many 0-0 draws as possible, we've got terrible form against some really ordinary sides and our defeat of Leicester away was one of the luckiest wins I've ever seen. Only an invisible forcefield kept Man City's 25 shots out. With a full side we beat West Ham in the Carling Cup by catching them cold at the start of extra time. Our two central midfielders have a combined age of 70-odd and can't win the ball or run. Our game plan is to pray that our 'keeper makes a series of brilliant saves, that Stephen Carr beats the rest of the opposition on his own or that Kasey Keller then kicks long to 2 dwarf strikers, who accidentally bundle the ball in. Our only form striker (Kanoute, also the only forward who is tall enough to head the ball) is out for at least 2 weeks, our best striker (Keane) has to run back to midfield to get the ball, we're trying to sell our star signing of last summer (Postiga) already and neither of our wide midfielders can cross the ball. Our defence is stacked with 6 foot 2 players who appear to be in the side because they are black and therefore wrongly assumed to be able to run athletically and/or defend.

Meanwhile he doesnt play Dalmat who is arguably the best player Spurs have at the moment. Thankgod Viera is injured otherwise we would get slaughtered.

I would imagine so, maybe we should ask Ian Wright it was him after a pretty hot tempered game got into an argument with Pleat & then proceeded to call him a few names in relation to his passion for driving very slowly.

He wasnt injured, went back to France for Family reasons but is back, and with Pleat taking off Poyet at halftime last week, he should hopefully start. Without Viera he could cause some real damage.

Now if only we could find a way to stop Henry

Just on Dalmat.

I was disgusted with Inter when we loaned him, he's just about the most talented player there, and ws actually given the #10 about three days before we decided to ship him off. Has he been going ok? My only knock on him is that he's very injury prone. Still, when he's fit he can be breathtaking.

Lucky we may be, and from what I saw I do think Henry was offside for our first goal and a lucky deflection helped us with the 2nd, but hey I aint complaining. Sometimes you need a bit of luck, and in the end Arsenal won the game thats all that matters.
