An 11 point loss.

Always tough to take particularly when a player short and three 100+ scorers on the bench. The talent is obviously there, and the rest of the league have been put on notice.

But not to worry. Grim's coaching position is on the line this year - that's why he has made 4 or 5 trades already. He knew he had to beat the most talented team in the comp in round one to keep the dogs from his door.

The Hack's know the grand final is played in September - not April. That's what we are focused on. Round 1 was disappointing because we are a team full of ultra-talented youngsters, dripping with class and polish. A midfield of Black-Mitchell-Cornes-Bruce-Lappin-Gibbs/Hadley will not lose too many games. Particularly delivering to the likes of Pavlich, Chapman, Johnson, and Fevola. The good news is we have plenty of money to splurge on some other guns as the season heats up.

We just got done by an old team on the slide. It's going to happen through the season, purely due to our attacking and flamboyant style. We will do much better against a team who don't push 6 loose men behind the ball and play "tempo footy". I think the most disappointing thing to come from the loss was the fact it was against a bottom-4 certainty. Who can't afford to lose games against the "everyone gets a trophy" teams. Upsets happen in round 1 - you just have to see this game, or the fact Team Toddy won for evidence of that.

Next week the boys will be fired up. We are playing John's Team who will be a very strong foe. There is no doubt we play better against the better sides, so watch our rise next week. :thumbsu:

The good news for me is that I couldn't possibly play any worse and I still won. Fortunately I was up against weak opposition, but I mustn't get a false sense of security. We would all love to play Warwick every week, but if you want to be match hardened come finals time you have to perform against the top teams.

POBT will be a tougher opponent this week. He will be desperate to post his first win, so there won't be a lack of intensity.

Actually I had presumed you would get two trades a week all year. I only just realised that I'm due to run out in round 14. :o But my team is fairly set at the moment. I've still got a bit of money in the kitty, so I'll probably use that up and then I won't have to change much for a while.

Sounds like you outcoached him Grim. Put the right men on the park, pulled the right reins, came up with the match ups and got the win. It wasn't the cattle on the park but the mind in the box that carried the day.

I was shocked when I saw how well the West Coolum Roar went this week. They had a pretty ordinary couple of weeks prior to this week and to be honest I didnt expect them to win, But glad that they did:D

WELL DONE ROAR!:thumbsu: :thumbsu:

Yep, fairly accurate assessment there Quigley, but it's not in my nature to gloat.:)

You had a team score of 1914 and a total score of 2072, so I don't see how it is possible for you to have three 100+ scores on the bench.

Uh-oh. Looks like someone has been busted telling fibs!

What do you expect from someone that calls themself Hammo?;) I must admit I'm a little surprised Warwick is trying to save face so early in the season. Who would have guessed he would get rattled so easily?

Just want to say pre-emptively, that that I've had an absolute barry of a week thus far in Supercoach.

Am expecting nothing less than a comprehensive defeat at the hands of the Giraffes.

I'm going to get absolutely pumped this week.

Most of John's team got over 90 points, and the only players who didn't are also in my team.

Tanking for draft picks already? ;)

Some good performances from Toddy and John sees them head the table but looking at the points against, they have come across some weak opposition.

Also we can see Warwick and Ashli struggling at the bottom of the ladder. Looking at the points against Ashli has come up against some strong opposition so she has been a bit unlucky.

Well done POBT. Too good for me this week.

Well done POBT. Too good for me this week.

I've got no idea now. Last week, I watched the games and thought that I was a shoe-in against John based on how my players went. John smashed me! This week, I thought my team was shit (particularly given that I forgot about the early start to the round and didn't make any changes) and I ended up with over 2 grand and a win.

This Supercoach thing is a joke and I will maintain that viewpoint until I start to win more than I lose!

As predicted, I had a shocker and I've moved from 5th to 13th.

Three big scorers on the bench :(

Selwood 113
Davey 110
Edwards 80.

Money in the bank there I'd be thinking TBD. :thumbsu:

Thinking of re-naming my team to freddies faucets... hot then cold then..... .................................. Or Geelong :D
