I think its a good thing. Remember the last blond haired leg spinner from Melbourne to be placed in the Australian team? He has the potential to be brilliant.

Of course its a good thing, you are promoting a young player of the future into the One Day squad, win win situation. You add depth to the batting and a decent bowler and give him a summer to get used to the International scene

Thats a pathetic attitude towards a young player who has just earned his dream to play for his country.
Obvious to see you have never acheived anything in your life

Lol nah i just hate him because first when he started for Victoria he was a "promising young spinner" Then they started to call him an "all-rounder" now he is a "Batsman who bowls a bit"

Whilst his batting of late has been very good i don't think he should be replacing a spinner. Bring in a geniune spinner and lets get him up and running instead of a dodgy all rounder who will probably never make it at the highest level.

Thats the worst team I've ever seen.

Bracken is an A grade dud.

Hopes is super crap. Nothing else.

And Watson and White are both all rounders that suffer from not overly good at either syndrome. Both average batsman and average bowlers, in White's case a dud.

alright then smartass, name me a better side from the squad we're choosing from.

Good to see White being given an opportunity, look forward to seeing him make the most of playing for Australia at the one-day level.

Saw Hogg today at the launch at Federation Square and he didn't seem to bow showing any sort of injury, no sort of limping at all.

The launch today was nothing short of a PR disgrace, as it was basically a thing set up for the media and corporate types only. Not even a designated autograph signing session and ********ing stupid security guards who turned away so many kids who had made the effort to turn up hoping to get just a signature and they got nothing.

Anyone else go today ?

Well he did start off as a no.3 batsman as a youngster, and while his bowling needs a bit of work, he's trying hard to improve it, remodelling his action and all. Whichever way you look at it, the kid is an outstanding one-day package - outstanding slips fieldman, leader and tactician, as well as solid batsman and handy 5th bowler. I think he needs to step up to play Test cricket though, as these bits and pieces players like Symonds, White, Hopes are usually labelled one day specialists.

Sounds like an advertisement for Beau Casson Don't forget, Cam White has a better FC bowling average than Hoggy

The good thing about White is he has plenty of scope for improvement (same with Watson), whereas players like Hopes don't.

Just wondering, not sure how long the U/19's setup has been in place, but is White the first U/19 captain to make the Australian team?
