It doesn't matter how good a bowler White is. With our pace attack of Bracken, Lee, Clark and Johnson we'll get the wickets with those 4 bowlers. Ponting sometimes wouldn't have to use Clarke or White.

At this stage White is in the side for Watson. As soon as Watson is back, I'd suggest White will only play the odd game when others are rested, etc. White will be a regular in the one day side in years to come though.

No Hayden is in the side for Watson... or maybe even one of the fast bowlers. I don't see Watson as the type of batsman who can bat at seven and smash a quick 50 off 30 balls when needed so I don't see how he replaces White.

I would play Watson instead of Clark, but Watson up the order where he is more suited.

Hmm, maybe, I don't like Watson opening though, so have him above Symonds (who would be at 7), and you still have the 50 from 30 type player down there. Mind you, the selectors have a good array of choices at the moment - will be interesting to see what they do when Watson comes back.

I say when Watson comes back he'll replace either Clark or Johnson. It's a strong batting line-up if he bats around 7 or 8.

Hundreds of games?

Interesting.

Not that hard to rack up a hundy over a 12 year career. I think he will probably play between 150-200. They play plenty of games these years.

Anyway, i would confidently wage my left one that he will make 100 games by careers end for Australia.

Lets wait and see. At least one thing we can be assured of with Whitey....it will be a wild ride. This kid can hit the ball. Go CW!

Exciting Times!

'Hundreds' is not 150-200.

White is in the side because he is an all-rounder! Damn, is the quality of water really that bad? lol

An all-rounder who bowls 3 overs a game and goes for about 8 runs an over?

Strange conception of all-rounder that you have.

Seems you don't have even the quality of water to excuse the poverty of your posting.

Victoria allrounder more powerful than Symonds

Cameron White's re-entry into the Australia team has been so strong that he has out-hit Andrew Symonds in their past two partnerships. After muscling four sixes in the Twenty20 win over England, White blasted another three against New Zealand in Hobart on Sunday as Symonds played the support role with an almost run-a-ball 69.

White's 45 from 32 deliveries helped take the game away from New Zealand during a 90-run partnership with Symonds in nine overs. Symonds has been impressed with White's power since he came back into the national set-up and said it meant he did not feel pressure to force the pace. "When you've got that going on at the other end, it makes it a lot easier for me," Symonds told AAP. "I'm happy to give him the strike ... he was the ideal man for the job.''

In a striking assessment Symonds agreed there was probably not a cleaner hitter in Australia than White. "You'd have to say so after that Twenty20 effort the other night and today," Symonds said. "It's not like he's just clearing the rope. There's absolutely no doubt when he hits it in the middle, it's maximum."

White's bowling was not as productive as his blasting, which included consecutive sixes off Daniel Vettori and another from Shane Bond that landed on a grandstand roof. His first two overs went for 18 as he was targeted by Ross Taylor, but he returned to take the final wicket of Jeetan Patel and secure the 105-run win. He also gave up 27 runs in three overs during the victory over England on Friday.

However, the performances have not been a concern for Ricky Ponting. "I just see him as someone, if we can, to give him some overs, give him some experience and exposure, give him some confidence," he said. "I can see him as a good wicket-taking option for us. He's just going to get better and better with more experience."

There is already a thread for White where Bentleigh has posted this.

This is just trolling.

He wasn't out. Regardless of what your hate of the lad tells you.

Attacking the poster.

Signs of weakness.

If it happened to Ponting, Hussey or Gilchrsit (which it does) you don't say boo. And yet you feel the need to highlight Whites one?

Perfect technique - which of course means nothing in the town of Adelaide because he apparently 'looks like a Tailender', dispite getting Australia to a decent total twice in a week.

I find it intersting how when the commentators say something you like it's bible, and when they say something you disagree with they have "been known to overexaggerate".

Funny that. :)

Now that I have exposed you as a hypocrite, will you answer the question I posed to you, which was a question for you to answer, not an attack?

Trolling?

When the captian of Australia and the best batsman of his generation claims our gun batting allrounder will develop into a "wicket taking option", its huge news.
