Such a little man has such a massive fanbase :thumbsu:

I love those goals he kicks from centre clearances!! They are the best goals in the AFL, better than some freaky snap.

I'm yet to meet a cocky richmond fan in my lifetime, mostly we just brood.

You must be too young DW I can remember strutting for a wek either side of the 80 GF and then strutting around for 6-8 weeks leading into the 82 GF.
I didn't start brooding until about half way through the last quater of that game, and come to think of it........ I haven't stopped brooding since. :(

I Love Axel!
I love the way he goes about it and has fast become not only my favorite player, but a favorite in the league.

I have got mates who barrack for various clubs and they LOVE him too :thumbsu:

Why we even HAVE a Nathan Foley story this year...
=======================================

I have seen a lot of crap flying from other clubs' supporters about Richmond's decision to delist Dave Rodan and his subsequent great season with Port, but I have another theory on this matter (which I have mentioned before, but I'll just do it in the "official" thread).

We delisted a player with GREAT potential who was not realising it at our club which, with Cogs out, left a gap in our midfield big enough for one Nathan Foley - another player with GREAT potential who, in season 2007, has taken leaps and bounds toward realising it.

In my opinion, without losing Rodan, Foley would not have had his chance this year and we may have missed out on unearthing one of the best midfielders in the competition (who made the All Australian squad of 40).

Now I am a huge D-Rod fan as I'm sure most Tigers are and I'm happy as Larry that he's done well over at Port (and Larry's pretty happy), but I'm happier still that we've unleashed Nathan Foley and that he's grabbed his opportunity with both hands, both feet, his teeth and a scream of "Yiihaa!".

I cannot see how both of these guys could have been in our 2007 lineup and shown the sort of form they have each displayed and I think it has been the best outcome possible for Port, Richmond, Nathan Foley and David Rodan. In my opinion, this is one of those all too rare cases where everybody wins.

I really like Foley as a player. He didn't have the greatest season in 2008 but he was by no means disappointing. The thing I like about Axel is that he seems to work hard. He must have worked hard to get into Richmond's side as a former rookie.

Strange thread to bump. Good one though.

Where'd 94 Eagles get that quote by me from? Just made it up?
