i have detected and duly noted a pattern, and in turn have suggested an alternative? surely dallols cant have been overlooked?

and i think in order to differentiate the two la teams, the clips should just be 'lol'. both fits the nickname policy and is accurately descriptive to boot *

You have to be f***ing kidding me?

Reward System at the Heart of Miami's Winning Streak

A simple reward system has contributed to Miami's current eight-game winning streak.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra set parameters that reward his superstars with offensive freedom when they excel on the defensive end.

If Dwyane Wade grabs a defensive rebound, he has the green light to do whatever he wants offensively. If LeBron James makes a defensive stop, he controls his own game on the other end of the court.

"Our job is to defend and then we get rewarded with what we want to do on offense," James said.

Why do they even bother wasting money on Spoelstra?

Reward System at the Heart of Miami's Winning Streak

Why do they even bother wasting money on Spoelstra?
Will Bosh's shot attempts decrease due to the lack of defence and rebounding?

Spo: "Ok Chris, don't get posterized by the opposition point guard, and we will reward you with one shot in the post."

*Chris Bosh passes out of post while holding mismatch, guarded by opposition point guard*

Hornets zone was very effective on Miami today. I wonder if more teams will try it?

Miami run very hard at the 3 point shooters and Hornets countered by faking and then driving around for a pull up 2.

Some good lessons for other teams.

Chris (best +/- in the NBA) Bosh was pretty good again. Starting to get some rebounds.

Dampier might be next to useless at the Offensive end but I think his big body has really made a big difference to the Heat. His screens are brutal up top and he has a nice habit of tipping the ball back out for an extra possession.

BTW, Heat now have a 9 game win streak of 10 points or more. Its the 4th best ever in the NBA.

I like how Spoelstra tries to pretend that he's in control of that team and particularly the offense. It's just give the ball to Lebron or Wade and let them do whatever they want with it, thrown in with the occasional Bosh jumper.

True, BUT they are playing a lot differently than in their earlier games.

1. Lebron is not playing point guard anymore. This is a massive change. This has made the offense work a lot better. More people are getting touches. The ball ends up in Wades or Lebrons hands but its often in better spots.
2. They run on any opposition miss. (Especially if Wade or Lebron get the rebound)
3. Dampier is setting big screens at the top of the key and getting players open.
4. Wade and Lebron have toned down the 3 point shots (especially when game is close) They are driving whenever possible and Wade in particular seems intent on drawing fouls.
5. They moved Eddie House out of the rotation and put in Chalmers. This means more D for starters and someone who can penetrate and get into the paint to pass out.
6. Wade had been assigned to guard the oppositions point guard. Early on Carlos had this assignment and was shocking. Wade has done a good job of this.

IMO. I think Spo is coaching this team like Team USA. Basics. Nothing too complicated and run and use your athleticism. Maybe over time if he is still around he will implement more.

Makes perfect sense when you read this article and when you watch their games. When they get a rebound they run and push it with no play called.

When they have to get the ball out of the basket the D is set so they call a play.

When Wade defends the shot but Lebron gets the rebound they call a time out to negotiate with Spo.... Its all good. *

So much harder to pay attention to the League after banning myself from League Pass

Phil Jackson just pays them :D

The Zen Master has taken on a not-so Zen-like approach to motivate his players to sacrifice their bodies on defense and draw charges: pay them.

"We actually even put out a reward for drawing charges so there's rewards involved in it," Jackson said, with the money coming from a "minor fine pool" that filled up throughout the year that the Lakers use to "reimburse these guys for various things they do."
