Out Lower from the midfield
Broughton from forward line into the guts?
Walters into the pocket?

Hope so.

Makes sense. Must be hard for Lyon to take Broughton out of there. He's done a fairly good job I think. Seems to be in the right places, was very dangerous in the Don's game. Also he was so-so when playing in the middle at the start of the year, though he got better as the season went on. But yeah, I don't mind it as a change-up.

Can anyone shed some light on how Lower got concussed and when in the game it happened? I know the game was only 5 days ago but I can't remember it, so maybe I'm concussed too

Todays team was the first time I heart about it, too. Training? Wasn't on the list Tuesday, it has changed today...

That is a seriously ordinary Melbourne side. I just hope our boys don't go into the match thinking the same thing.

Oh they will - they can't help it they are Freo players. Standard script reads - should be an easy win - we control the game but don't get too far ahead - A few major spud-ups happen - suddenly they are back in it- all of a sudden it's melbourne's grand final and they become inspired - we crumble under the pressure - they win and sing a resounding team song - board goes into meltdown with pea-hearts thread etc.

Well I expected those type of happenings against Saint Kilda and Richmond too and so far we've showed there is a bit more to us in Melbourne. I'm nervous as hell.

Lyon taking the piss against the Melbourne forwards by naming MJ as CHB!

The team lineups are always bullshit though, I remember Duffield being named forward pocket earlier in the year and other bizarre ones. At least they have him in the right part of the ground :p

Fear not friends.

This is the new Ross Lyon Freo.
Since the Hawks and Eagles debacles we have been steadily improving albeit not maintaining four qtrs of intensity.

The Freo capitulations of the past have been consigned to history.
Freo is about to go off like a skyrocket.

My poor memory can't recall exactly when it was, perhaps the 3rd qtr? He got taken out near the centre square and was laying on the ground looking like he was knocked out. the ball was in dispute and came towards him, he suddenly jumped up, won the footy and successfully disposed of it. Tough nut.

Melbourne v Freo in Melbourne is their grand final

They go out of their way to beat us if they can

Won't happen this year. Lyon won't stand for it and Sonny is back.

Lower is a bigger out than many will admit. He has been damn good in the guts. Getting the ball out when he can and laying some superb, strong tackles. I doubt we will miss him much against the Dees though.

I am, too. Some fear for exactly the above stated happening...

I haven't tipped us, but after seeing their team I'm starting to think we might be a chance. I think they might be tanking....again. Are they playing any talls?

Will be very interesting to see who gets the sub jersey.

I think Sonny playing a full game in the forward line would give us a good look at what he can do down there, but Ross may leave him as the sub to keep him keen. I'd like Ibbo as the sub. Don't think he'd be an impact player really, but he is a running player and we've already got quite a few options for the back line, especially with Broughton named on the bench.

Sutcliffe should get another full game... with his run and skills he should add a dimension that our midfield has been lacking for a while. Thought he played pretty well last week, so he should get another full run.

Hopefully Duff has learned his lesson and has been drinking the harden-up, because his disposal will be very useful. Looking forward to the game.
