i tell you what for the regular chronicle reader this "severely depleted Glenrowan" tag Is getting a bit old. I know we have all discussed the guys they say are coming back but geez it's getting a bit repetitive every week to justify a less impressive performance than we are used to from the glernrowan juggernaut.
No they don't have their full contingent of premriership stars from the last 3 years but let's look at the facts..

Saturdays side had 13 premiership players (most 2 or 3 time premiership winners).
+ 2 new recruits in Campbell and Reynolds who would play in every O&K senior side that's 15 if their first choice side playing and this has been the case week in week out. Hardly what to would call severely depleted.

And they had another 3 experienced senior players in whitecross hiskins and Reynolds.
Is it time to ask the question, are these others actually going to be back and playing regular footy soon? Or are the rumours true that they are only signed to 10 game contracts to manage the salary cap. It so that's a dangerous game to play, how fit and in form will scott and Duffy be after 3 months enjoying the lifestyle in Europe? And if the tigers don't start pushing into the top 4 will the Lawrence, Cunningham, etc make the effort to get back at all?

Reports from the greta boys Saturday is that fee of the Glenrowan players were talking about how they cant wait for scott, Duffey, Lawrence and co to return so they can be the best side in the comp again.

The were too good in the end for our boys on the weekend but they are not the force they once were and its time we admitted that unless these guys all return soon and play some good footy in the last 8 weeks the tigers won't even play in the big dance.

I think it is aimed at building up the drama and continually drawing attention to the fact in such a potentially historic year for the club that eight of their players haven't played recently and won't play until the business end of the season.

Duffy and Scott are in south/central america by the way, if you play footy and travel together you'd like to think they would be keeping fit...

After such a long period of time they will need at least three reserves games as pittance (penance), and to build their fitness for leaving for so long. If i was coach i wouldn't allow players to just walk back into the senior side that would set an awful precedent.

When are they expected to return?

Another interesting stat to look at is Moyhu's percentage which is just 69 per cent despite having a winning 4-3 record.
Their four wins have all been 25 points or below, while their three losses have been 135 to Tarra, 70 to Milawa and 54 to Goorambat leaving them with 505 points scored for them and 724 points scored against.

Interestingly greta have a 3-4 losing record but a percentage of 110. Their losses have been Moyhu by 4pts GBat by 15 pts Glenrowan by 17pts and the blowout against blacks by 106.
I expect greta and Moyhu to finish on similar win/loss so the percentage could be vital in determining if one of those teams finished 6th.

What I do find interesting is the position of Bright in the Seniors and Reserves. Top of the ladder in the reserves and really struggling in the Seniors. I am guessing as they have done in the past is have blokes playing twos that should be playing seniors. Been a habit from that club for a long time. When everything looking ok they come out of the hills everywhere. When it gets a bit difficult they go easy option. Pretty poor I think. If they are locals and care about the club they should be making the effort to make a more competitive senior side.

Have heard that they have a policy of if you don't train you don't play seniors. So looks like a few are testing the rules! But as you say looks like they are taking the easy option!

Yep there are a few genuine senior players there who play twos by choice. I noticed Ben Henwood was in the best for the seniors this week. From what I'm told he is still awaiting his knee reco, so playing with no ACL. At least he is having a crack!

Yep Benny is a cracker! Big risk by him. And I guess we don't know the back story to why these blokes a playing twos footy.

Bonnie Doon vs North Wangaratta
Could be interesting to see if BD have turned the corner, and the signs are positive. They should win by 30 points.

Bright vs Greta
Greta have played quality opposition for the last three rounds, and it'll show in a dominant display. They'll win it by 12 goals.

Milawa vs Goorambat & District
Bats by 55 points.

Moyhu vs Benalla All Blacks
I was really unimpressed with Moyhu last week, they were only interested in trying to stop a blow out, and their players looked totally disinterested in the 2nd 1/2. All Blacks by 100.

King Valley vs Glenrowan
Another week of the Glenrowan 4th XI running around the park feeling the joy of their amazing culture. Unfortunately they will get an easy and totally undeserved win by 35 points.

Whorouly vs Tarrawingee
Tarra by a lot. I'll predict that they get 60 scoring shots - realistically this could mean a score of between 185 and 285 depending on the kicking ability of Hoggan.

I Don't think I disagree with any of your tips this week.
I'm tippinh hoggan to kick another 10 and I reckon he will seriously threaten the leagues season goal kicking record set by Richie Leahy 130 odd wasn't it?

Leahy kicked 147 all up in 2012 from memory. Can't remember how many were h&a season, but don't think he had a huge amount in the finals.

O&K Website says 137.
Hoggan is averaging 8.57 which would take him over 150 for 18 rounds. On current form he'll kick that many behinds by round 12
