Following up on the Atari thread below..
I grew up through the early years of computer/console games. When I think back there I remember some great games that still are a lot of fun. In some ways they are better than a lot of the games available on todays high fallutin' consoles.

Anyway, I'd be interested to hear your top few games available only on obsolete equipment.

Heres mine:

Micro Machines (Sega) - the premier party game.
Defender of the Crown (Commodore 64)
Raid on Bungling Bay (Commodore 64)
TV Sports Basket Ball (PC)
Street Racer (PC)

aw no now u make me feel like going and playing the ancient Nintendo again  hehe

well i remember one of the first games i had on an old commodore computer which was called Marble Madness. Very weird game but i later bought it on Nintendo as well so it can't have been to bad.

Also there is this old one i am playing on Nintendo at the moment called ice climber and i think the game is actually older than i am. Takes for ever to add the scores up and its general movement across the screen is very slow.

The worst game i had was stupid Ninja Turtles on Nintendo god that was a rubbish game.

Best old time favorite would have to be Mario who can go past the lil dude and his companion Luigi.

Seeing as everyone has passed most of the Mario games by now though i am loving playing Rollerball at the moment. It's this pinball game on Nintendo that still kicks ass even 10 years later :D

I saw this thread, and had to say something...

I went out on the weekend and put a deposit on an old table arcade space invaders game. You know, like the old frogger one, one person on each side, 20c in the slot.

I only put a deposit on it, because it doesn't work!! They're fixing it up for me, and if they can't, then i get my money back!!

yeppp... thanks to arcade machine emulators, we can play these on the pc...

some of my fav. arcade games, i've downloaded and play often.. love them!!

these include:

elevator action
altered beast
shinobi
r-type
bad dudes vs ninja (damn, cant remember title again)
ghosts & goblins
rainbow islands (favourite game)
bubble bobble
1942, 1943

I had the trusty old Commodore 64. Legendary machine!

The best games were:

Choplifter
Intl. Soccer
Pitfall
Winter Games

When you think back, it was amazing what they did with only 64K of memory hey....

Willow Pattern (Amstrad CPC464)

It goes on and on ... you get the picture. Is it doing it to everyone else or just me :(

I LOVED TV Sports basketball!!!

I played the 24 game season, in it's entirity, 8 times, and won the championship 7 times.

Bloody Cinemaware was always tough to beat though. Gunner Garner and Air Albright ! lol :p

I changed the name of the teams to footy teams, complete with player name changes too. That was a great game

An another one... Bubble Bobble!

When I was but a lad of 15 I moved 700km away from home, living in a caravan park coz I could walk to my work from there. I never would have gotten through those lonely times without the small pinny room they had there, with the one and only MOON PATROL! That was a tune that still goes round my head Dan :D
A few years later I had an Intellivision, some games I remember from that were Dracula (you had to bite a certain number of people and get back to the cemetary by dawn), Pitfall, Dungeons and Dragons, and the baseball one was a pearler.
