There's quite a few threads up at the moment that are DOOM and GLOOM and its getting quite depressing (the sooner that shyte is sorted out the better).

Soooooo........ a lite and easy thread.

Lets talk on-field.

1 - Anyone to discuss who our B&F winner in 07' might be????
2 - Our highest possession getter for 07'????

(anything else??)

B&F - I'm tippin Walker (injury free). Should have a big year. in 06' you could see the improvement and having been down to training over the last month, he looks better and better - session to session.

Possy's - Tough one, Murph, Simmo, Scotland ????

(i was bored, so if this is a lame thread - just delete!!!)

we should be looking at min 8 wins for 2007, with a bit of luck if could be 10 or 11 wins.

injuries will play a bit part for us. if we are relatively injury free then we should be very competive.
we are a very young side and although we have increased our talent and depth, most of this talent is untried and our kids still need time to develop.

B&F- ecpect a big year from stevens, scotland will go close, whitnall always gets votes. IMO the B&F will be a lot close this season as our list is becoming a lot more even.

onfield the positives are endless, the main thing is each tier of players keeps taking the next step and continues to develop.

2007 is about playing cohesive football and building to finals for 2008 and beyond, 2007 shoiuld not be judged on win/loss alone it should be about 'the way we play our football'

possessions are irrelevent these days

but you would ecpect fev to kick at least 80 goals, hopefully 100
need more output from our fwds
especially in goal kicking accuracy (waite and fisher in particualr)

early wins is the key, for the last few years we have struggled to get wins early in the season and this has put us on the back foot.

For you guys, i see 9-10 wins. Scotland, Stevens, Walker, Murphy, Kouta, Gibbs, Simpson is as solid a 7 pack as you could wish to see. Throw in a few developers like Bentick, Blackwell and co and things look rosy.
If Fev, Waite and Kennedy can fire, you will finish 10th or 11th.

Cheers,

Monkeyboy

:) Don't forget JK for National Rising Star :thumbsu:

Have a feeling Nick Stevens could have a very very good year in '07. Looks to be training very well, and just have a feeling "in the guts"

I think he could also end up being our highest posession winner, although Scotland could give it a shake as well, considering the amount of posessions he picks up off back. Also watch for Simpson and Walker to have big years as well.

He still qualifies??? cool
Have seen him at training, he's a monster. He's grown out and up quite a bit since the draft last year.

I agree. The guy is massive.
Really hope he gets a consistent go in the senior team next year.

Glad you posted it, means I didn't have to type all that that. :thumbsu::D

Just reading CFC Thursday email - we're at 12,000 + members.
The target was 10,000 by xmas and 15,000 by NAB Cup.

Great effort :thumbsu:

What a happy nice thread :)

B&F - Expect either Stevens or Scotland, Hope either Fev or Walker

Highest possession winner - one of the above :)

Season 2007 can't come around fast enough in my eyes!

Fev, Waite, Scotland, Kennedy, Blackwell, Murphy, Houlihan, Bentick, Setanta, Bower, Thornton, Simpson and Walker... i'm happy.

Nice thread as on-field things are really looking up:thumbsu:
I reckon 6-8 wins, but If everything goes our way we could sneak a few more:) Most of our best talent is in the younger end of our list which should mean we will be a bit inconsistent, but it will still be all good watching them develop.

They had replays of our close losses to West Coast and Kangas over the last couple of nights on FS3. They were on a bit late so I taped them, but the Weagles game was magic for three and a half quarters:) For those who doubt Kennedy because he didn't have great stats don't worry..what I saw just reinforced what I already thought, he will be a gun. The kid has courage, does the little things and just loves running at a pack:thumbsu:

Murph is just a beaut:) We were so lucky to get him and he will get tagged this year, but he will be a champion:)

I''l try to watch the Kangas tonight...although the wife will make it hard:D
We had so many games where we lost it by playing poorly in one or even just half a quarter. We aren't that far away and we should be powering again in a year or two.

GYNO how do you subscribe to the Carlton thursday email?

Its usually located on the left side below the menu options on carltonfc.com.au - labelled Newsletter.

i think the next edition will be mid feb as everyone will be on holiday.

Given the blues can field pretty close to a full team, they will be very competitve next year and with a good run could even sneak into the eight.Your recruiting has been very good ,and some of the young kids coming through should see the Carlton of old emerge in a few short years. Then all the supporters will be feeling alot better.Don't worry all good things take time.Merry Xmas and a safe new year to everyone.

 Wow did a magpie supporter really just write that ... thats more positive than majority of Carlton supporters.

But hopefully '07 will see B&F = Marc Murphy
Nab Rising Star = Bryce Gibbs
Coleman Medal = Fev
All Australian = Murphy, Fev, Simpson, Walker
Most Improved = Jordan Russel
Carlton win more than 5 games!!!!
(And no draws!)

* Maybe Murphy for Brownlow :D Hes a star!
