Results have pretty much gone our way this week. Brisbane, St. Kilda and most importantly Sydney all lost, and this keeps our slim top 4 hopes alive... not to mention our final 8 hopes. The only bad result for us is that it looks like North will leapfrog us to 5th, but on the whole I'd say for one more week at least, our destiny is still somewhat in our own hands. The match against Sydney is an obvious must win, a true 8 pointer, but we really can't afford to drop any more matches, perhaps 1 more at the most if results keep going our way.

Go ahead, call me a deluded optimist as I cling onto the memories of the team demolishing Geelong... bring on Hawthorn! :p;)

I'll just ruin it for you, okay?

Had we won the last 2 games against the Roos and Dons, and won on Friday night against the Hawks. We'd have been one game off 3rd spot, with the Hawks looking less and less potent.

Could you have imagined that 2 months ago? Collingwood sitting 3rd behind just the Dogs and Cats, who we know we can beat on our day with 22 fit players?

Ow well, as per usual, we choked.

An interesting aside, Fremantle won today putting them on four wins/16 points.

One more win loses them a pre-second round priority pick. Do they go the tank and lose to us in Rd 22? Or perhaps they win next week in the Derby and advance our second-round selection by one.

Either outcome is good, and the second doesn't preclude us beating them in Rd 22 anyway.

I'm more optimistic then ever, Fraser, Goldsack to return next week, Brodie the week after. And Chris Dawes to debut next week, whatever happens, we will give Hawthorn a run for their money, and then that will bring on the most important game of our season, StKilda, bring it on.

2nd had a Really good game:)

and what if none of this happens and we go in unchanged, for the 10th time in a row :p
