Firstly, Congratulations to Geelong footy club.

Guys I understand we're all hurting right now but on a positive note, I'm feeling really excited about the future of this group, in particular next season.

The reasons why:

The burning desire to bounce back which today's defeat instills in each and every one of us.

Nathan Buckley will be a super coach. We all know the man demands perfection and he will make sure he gets just that from the entire football club (players, coaches and staff).

Nathan Brown's return. I feel as though with nate back and leroy retiring, we can use taz as our swingman (similar in a leroy role minus the ruck work).

Another pre-season into the likes of Pendlebury, Thomas, Dawes, Wellingham, Sidebottom, Beams, Reid, Brown, Blair, Fasolo, Wood, Witts, Ball, Macaffer and Sinclair. All of the listed players above I feel have the ability to step it up another level. IMO guys like Swan, Cloke, Harry, Heater are at the peak of their ability and we know they will be for many years yet. This, with the maintenance of Jolly, Tarrant, Davis and Johnson will see us IMPROVE again next year.

AND......we got a surprising high number of games into young players this year in high pressure games.

AND.....Collingwoods equal greatest ever player (with Bob Rose) was opposition coach this year ( damn I wish he was forward coach and not LAPPIN) and spent time in the USA studying coaching methods. Chris Scot re energized an older team. How will Bucks go with a side at or nearing it's peak.

MORE hunger (I scoff at people who say we have zero hunger for a premiership)

Fresh start with injuries

More Arizona into Krakeour, Fasolo, Tarrant, Sinclair and Rounds

Apart from Jolly and Tarrant all our key players are either young or replaceable (well if Brown comes back next year I guess Tarrant is as well). There's no reason why the club can't have another 3+ years at the top.

I just hope the salary cap doesn't bite us too hard. I guess if it does, it will be a mechanism by which we can keep ourselves topped up with young talent. The timing might not be too bad either given the GWS raping and pillaging of the draft should be over by then.
