Was watching On the couch fox footy and Robert Walls, Mike sheean and Gerard healy all agreed that Adelaide, West Coast and Sydney were the premiership favourites, miles ahead of any other team in the 8. The Pies beat Westcoast, beat the Swans and came within a mili meter of beating Adelaid. So were the hell are we in the mix, Gerard healy never shuts up about the bloody Swans. Look footy is a funny game, all you have to do is give yourself a chance to win a premiership. First make the 8, then make the 4 then turn up on the day and turn it on and BINGO you can win it. I wont listen to all the bull**** that the Pies are 2 or 3 years away from wining the big one. We are just as much chance this year then in 2 or 3 years.

Have a good game plan, cope with the pressure and give it everything you have got = good chance of beating anyone in the finals. We can do it, Go Pies.

1990 Essendon favourites, We came out and ran all over them while they lay in shock.

100% correct.
Everyone is talking down the Adeliade game, but in regards to playing the best team in the AFL, a couple of weeks after beating the 2nd best team in the AFL I must say that I REALLY enjoyed watching Collingwood take it to the Prem. favourites in AAMI. If that game didnt show that we are contenders, and our game against WCE in Subi didnt show we are contenders then nothing else will. I guess the advantage is that we will slip under the radar in the media. I wont say the Pies are going to win the premiership this year, but as DJ said, we have just as much of a chance as the 'top 3'

Don't watch Walls, Sheehan and Healy. I hardly ever watch On the Couch.

As for our premiership chances, I believe we can do it, but we need to set right a couple of negatives.

Stuff 'em all. I actually prefer it when no one gives us any chance as I reckon we play our best footy playing in spite. I thought our bad run started after our Brissy win and we began publically saying we belong in the top 4. Not good enough. Sure within ourselves we know our capibilities but the reality check is we finished 15th last year regardless of what team we could string together.

Back to 1 week and 1 team at a time is what we do best. The next 4 games can't be taken as givens.

Re: The Crows vs Pies match. Could have gone either way and if we won we would have been "Victoria's only hope" again. Stuff 'em all!!! Jumping for one band wagon to another. Wagon HO's Alright!!! ;)

I reckon when Healy talks about the Swans something stirs in his underpants. Apologies to those eating at the moment. :p

GO PIES!!!

Anyone rember a certain final v Port in 2002........???? Sheehan tiped Port by 52 points......I'll never feeget that.......It's been done before and it'll be done again........:thumbsu:

exactly right 3066, who really cares what other people think, i couldnt care if not 1 person rated us, we know what we have to do and are capable of doing, and we should just keep doing it, quietly and 1 week at a time. Besides i see more expertise in critical analysis on these forums then from the actual "experts", so who cares. I will just get some enjoyment when we get to prove them wrong yet again.

I'll never forget, we were paying $5.00 or even $5.50 for the win, and were I think $34 for the flag. I wanted to go put money on us for both, but didn't! Kicked myself for ages about that.

Slightly different position this year. Although, perhaps last year's finals "wobble" by Adelaide could play in their minds in week one, and if we're fourth...*cleans up keyboard* :o :D

that you didn't pick Collingwood for the flag?

Robert Walls once defended his decision to tip Melbourne in the 2000 Grand Final by saying something like everybody gets their tips wrong once in while.. the difference is though, unlike Sheehan and Walls, everyone doesn't get paid to be a football expert.

Who cares...90% of the football world are suprised we are fighting out a top 4 chance let alone a top 8 berth, let alone inside the top 12...so they have their rights saying what they want. All we know is we are playing in September and can go from there.
