Some snippets:

• Bomber "very proud" of his players on the weekend.
• Mooney is a very important player to the side now. Rarely plays a bad game. Was close to "sacking himself" a couple of years back but has pulled himself together.
• Mike Sheahan commented that Geelong's was the youngest side playing in round 1. Bomber said that he was aware of this and it is the reason why it is so important to get the experienced players back out there (Riccardi, Harley and Kingsley).
• Kingy has been held back during the preseason and is pretty fit. Bomber said both King and Ottens will be managed very carefully for the whole season because they are both so important.
• Bomber cannot believe how well Egan is doing given how short a period he has been focussed on footy.
• SJ won't play many more VFL games before playing seniors. "Will probably play this week". Bomber said he would have played in round 1 but he didn't want to carry 3 underdone players in the one match.
• NA had his best game for the preseason but Bomber didn't sound confident that he'd be under consideration for this week.
• Playfair has "a sore shoulder" and will miss 1-2 weeks.
• Bomber said that he wants to play entertaining, attacking football but this is made hard at times by sides that want to slow the game down and play extra players in defence.
• Bomber very happy with Byrnes and Tenace.
• Bomber said that he noticed a difference in the players' attitude when the players returned to training after the Sydney final. He said that they showed real purpose and knew that they would have to improve certain areas to be successful.

Probably not worth ripping Scotty. Only went for 15 minutes or so and it wasn't a spectacular interview.

I didn't see it this way at all, I reakon he stopped just short of saying NA would be considered this week. And then he said the commitee will meet today to discuss the team, instead. May be wrong though.

The match committee meets tomorrow so I can't say much more than that". Whereas he pretty much said "Johnno will play" and "Kent will play".

Interesting to hear about mooney almost "sacking himself". SO SO SO glad he is still playing and playing for the cats! His so awesome... a lil scary when mad but awesome. LOL

Agree with your wrap CE. I got the feeling tha he will make NA earn it a bit more and there is nothing wrong with that.After all, it was only last year he was alledgedly content not to be picked at all. With a much better crew in the V's he should be able to notch a couple of better performances and come in to the A's later in the year. As the Stones sort of said "Time is on his side, yes it is"

My observation on Bomber is he always looks twichy in that type of interview.Never really comfortable. He was obviously very happy with Mooney and Id would be holding my breath waiting for Byrnes to be dropped, same with Egan.
