Couldn't have said it better. If it is a tight game all night and you happen to go down by a point then i really don't mind it and would enjoy the contest but to let them get out by 40 pts and lose by 1 if friggin pathetic... If I see people around here tonight complementing our boys ill spew up... I wouldnt be so pissed of if i didnt think that we were a good side, we've all seen how good we can be when we turn it on but unlike the great sides, unlike the premiership sides we don't do it.
I mean why were we so flat in the first half?? did our training run last weekend take it out of us pffft... theres simply no excuses letting a team get out by that much... NO excuses.

I agree....if any of you blokes are happy with the effort and result tonight then that is an indicator of why we have been so ordinary for 50+ years.

We were shocking for most of the game and if we are to be a serious threat in the finals we as a club simply CANNOT be happy what we were served up tonight.

If you are happy with tonight and thats what we as a club stand for then you will be absolutely over the moon with continued gallant defeats against St Kilda, Geelong and the Pies again in the next few weeks.

Not good enough and until we as a club refuse to accept that kind of effort let alone be 'happy' with it then we will continue to have a culture that accepts second best as being good enough.

I love this club and am simply sick and tired of coming second when it matters.

Just because you have a crack at the team doesn't mean you don't love the red, white, and blue any less. Fair's fair, when the boys do well we support them, even when the boys lose we support them but when they give up a 40 point lead like they did tonight, lose by a point and expect my praises they are kidding themselves. Sure we're one of the highest scoring teams. We also happen to be one of the highest clearance teams, with an elite midfield so we SHOULD be kicking high scores. I'm ****ing sick of ''we're one of the highest scoring teams our structure works fine for now because we kick big scores".

We only kick big scores against schmucks, and those shmuck scores overshadow our terrible structural problems!!

From this example tonight we've learnt that against an inform St Kilda or Geelong in the FINALS, we will only kick goals from pure luck, or lucky delivery. ****

I know we can only deal with what we have, but ****, it's so frustrating. ****!

We smashed them in hit out and clearance our downfall was that in the 1st 3 qtrs we could not hit a target and got court on the rebound. You can not play for 1 qtr and win a game of footy, this is the way we played in the first 6 round of the year, good game in the end though.

Totally agree. I am really glad they came back and showed that they are a good side. At 3 quarter time I thought we would lose by 10 goals and dismissed as pretenders. I would've have been much more disappointed if we lied down in the last quarter. Get the close losses out of the way now before the finals start I say. The first 3 quarters by the dogs were really horrible, just letting Collingwood guys loose everywhere. Every time we lost the ball in the forward line Collingwood ended up with a shot at goal without a bulldog getting near it, it was embarassing.
If we can play 2 good quarters instead of 1 we'll beat anyone

I rate the dogs very highly, high enough to say that they are a genuine premiership threat. I have a tremendous amount of respect for your team people, thus the reason this win all be it 1 point is a huge win for our team. We were touted as not having beaten any team of substance, now we have. I ask that my fellow magpie follows be tactful and respectful toward the doggies members on this board, but as all other teams followers there will always be the usual number that get carried away.

I know you guy's thing that you only played 1 qtr any nearly won, yet we were the dominant team for 3, only goes to show that in today's football a 6 goal lead is like it being 2 goals. Not like the old day's when your up for 6 at 3 qtr you can put away the glasses.

See in round 22 people, for what looks to be another great game in the true pies v doggies tradition, then hopefully an opportunity to play off in the grand final. Here's hoping anyway.

Collingwood couldn't have played much better, and bar one quarter we couldn't have played much worse. Devastated with loss but happy to play them again.

Something has to be done down at the Dogs about their lack of respect, too often we just don't show up and expect it to simply happen.

Finally someone else who understands my passion and frustration. I will admit I was a bit crazy right after the match and have calmed down but that is only because I expect perfection from this team and no half ass ****ing efforts where we rock up to the game at 3q time.

I'm proud of the way we fought back, no doubt, but I dont accept the defeat and we simply can't afford an effort like that again.

Three shithouse quarters and a terrific last quarter is not good enough.

We had way too many players that didnt show up tonight. Hill, Welsh, Murph - love the boy, but last quarter aside he was poor, Williams , Minson - all very poor.

Lake (someone give him a medal for tonight, seriously), Aker, Harbrow, Cross and Boyd were the only ones that put in for the whole four quarters.

Dude, I am not taking any credit away from Collingwood; all I am saying is that MY TEAM did not play its best for three quarters. All Bulldogs supporters know that we can play much better than our effort tonight. I am not angry at Collingwood, I am angry and frustrated with the players of MY TEAM for not playing at their full potential.

They were by far the better team on the night. Absolutely pantsed us for three quarters and then just stopped because we finally actually applied some pressure.

Almost had a heart attack in that final quarter. I understand you guys are really annoyed at losing for one point, but you came back from being 40 points down at 3 quarter time. Give yourselves some credit.

If Collingwood want to be proper contenders we need to be consistent over all 4 quarters, and while tonights performance was a great team effort for three quarters, we nearly screwed ourselves in the last.

But a great performance from both teams. It would have to be my favourite match this season. We both deserve to be in the top 4.
