Cheers Grizzly.
Not a fan of current players appearing on Open Mike.
and with how much money they made. I was surprised that question wasn't asked last night. Mike is slipping.
From what I understand, national cricketers get paid more than AFL players. Which makes sense because only a couple of dozen cricketers are offered national contracts each year so they are harder to get, versus 800 AFL footballers.lol yeh money is a biggie for Mike.
I'm surprised he is often so surprised by what certain players got paid.
Not sure what the numbers are these days but I'm pretty sure Aussie Rules has always been the most popular sport in the country. Cricket must be second and when you are in that business, and good at it, you are bound to get paid considerably more money than those who have save lives for a living.

Clearly never saw Winmar at Bulldogs one day or the real biggie of Bourke from Collingwood.I was there that day, & this boy completely lost the plot like no other player I've ever seen in my 40+ years of watching football....

Saw them both....You have clearly not seen vision of Jacko on that day, to imagine those 2 incidents even warrant comparison....He was out of control & his mind for a full quarter, trying to knock-out any Hawthorn player in his vicinity.
Sounds totally sane to me.
Bourke on other hand attacked an umpire and then when runner tried to escort him off the ground, jumped over the fence to attack a supporter..lol
"The boys done well" as Slug Jordan famously said
Get the feeling they taught him it was quite alright to look at your reflection on hours at an end when he was youngerMarc and John Murphy.
Never far from mum or dad is Marc.
Somehow I knew what team you'd support even before I'd checkedMarc and John Murphy.

LOL I like Murph but gees that Ep was boring as batshartI always thought Marc Murphy was a pretty bland and boring character but listening to John Murphy tonight has proved me wrong. Marc is a barrel of laughs in comparison. Possibly the worst open mike I've seen thus far

Interesting that John was a mad Hawks supporter, considered playing for them, went to Fitzroy.
Marc was a mad North supporter, considered playing for Brisbane, went to Carlton.
Would be good for Marc to come home one day. Maybe we'll pick him up post 30 as a Free Agent when he'll better fit our age profile.
Of the interviews with 80's 'characters' Mike has done the Warwick Capper one was vastly superior.
This was just sad to watch. A bitter man who blames all of his problems on others and can't face his own flaws.
Oi!When Marc said he has the occasional drink during the season, for some reason it was very easy to picture him sipping a pink Cruiser through a curly straw...
