Let's just all agree that it was compelling TV and one of the best interviews in the program's history. I was tearing up at the end, especially when seeing the pictures. The work Peter and his wife have done for charities after what happened to Emily also should've been mentioned. He is a great man that has had to go through one of the worst possible scenarios that life can throw at you.

He has a lot of respect from my end.

I did let out a little gasp out when Mike used 'benign' when talking about Schwab's persona two minutes after the topic was brought up.

He is quite good with the footy questions, knows his stuff and can probe well there. But when he tries to get all touchy-feely on matters outside footy, he struggles.
Which is why, and I've said this before, I would prefer he just focused on the footy aspect.

The Schwab one was pretty much what I expected, it was OK.

Watching it though made me realise that he's had a heap of Hawthorn people on this show:
Matthews, Derm, Don Scott, Schwab, Parkin, Dunstall, Hudson, Dipper
So I hope he gives the Hawks a rest for a while. And when he does interview another Hawk it needs to be John Kennedy while he is still here!

I didn't think his question's were that bad, they are footy people, on a footy show, on a footy channel. So if a personal question is asked of a tragic nature, I would think a follow up question about putting footy into perspective is very relevant and almost compulsory.

i think Mike struggles sometimes because he would of known most people through his work in the media so theres already some sought of connection. If you were talking someone you know and they lost a kid in the past and you saw them getting emotional over it im sure most people would not to be to sure to say in response or to keep the conversation going.

I can't think of anyone else in the AFL who would do a better job then Mike, im going overseas before the season ends so i hope theres a chance ill be able to watch the ones i miss.

Originally I didn't think much of the series, maybe because the first few I caught seemed to be Fox Footy guys who seemed to be more cross-promoting then anything else

But the last two months or so have been fantastic viewing. In particular the Schwartz (sp) episode, which was compelling viewing.

Couldn't disagree more.

The last thing I want to see is hearing stuff I already know for the most part. Getting a look behind the scenes is what makes this show so appealing. As well as that, it gives those who come on the show a change to air their side of the story for any issue left unsorted while they were in the public eye more then they were now.

I have no doubt Mike would have asked for permission to ask about certain subjects before they start, so I don't think the "he wouldn't want to talk about it" logic is valid used by some people who have critiqued the show.

Bit to much about these two being aboriginal, I know it's indigenous round but both these blokes, especially Winmar were very good footballers, would be nice to hear a bit more about them as players rather than aboriginals

Agree with that. I would have appreciated this regardless of when it was shown. Pretty contrived. I have mixed feelings about indigenous round. It's great but it seeks to include by highlighting differences which kinda defeats the purpose.. why can't we just appreciate good footballers?

agree 100%. Mike just kept circling back to the issue. We get it mate, they are aboriginal footballers. Winmar was also a bloody good footballer, would have loved to heard a bit more about his career, as opposed to 20 minutes of Mike probing them about what was said.

Last night had the potential to be a great Open Mike, and while it was still very good I agree he spent far too much time on Victoria Park 1993 to the detriment of discussing the great moments of both of their careers.

I suppose being that the AFL was only celebrating that one moment of Nicky Winmar's career last weekend that was the angle Sheehan felt he needed to pursue.
