Operation Don't Get Aish

DE ....

We agree on many thing pricey but using DE stat as a point to prove being a good kick is not one of them.

As stated earlier Loki I agree with you that D.E has it's flaws but conversely you don't achieve just under 90% over the entire Champs if you cant dispose of the pill.

Can thread making privileges be revoked?

17 year old dual All Australian from a gun football family. Thought the thread might have something to do with the go-home factor. Alas, it does not. Unless he interviews in a crows jumper, he is in my top 3 candidates for pick 6. All 3 might be gone, but if one of bontempelli, Schara or Aish are there I would leap at them.

As I stated iI'm not saying he generally isn't a good kick or that he isn't very good player, just giving my thought on the champ games i saw and his highlight reel.

He may very well be all he is hyped up to be and make my assessment of limited games seen look very silly.

Hence why I said if Hine takes him I will back it in 100% as he knows much better then I.

The closer we get to draft day the more anxious I'm becoming.

I just hope aish is taken before pick 6 and we get our hands on ben lennon.

Aish is a soft one paced overrated dud who has showed nothing to impress me.

He is Bryce gibbs and jimmy toumpas all over and if we get him at 6 I probably wont buy a membership.

Don't get sucked into predictions and phantom drafts, he isn't that good despite being touted as #2 all year, Personally if we can land one of Lennon, Sheed, Freeman

Stay away from aish and salem

You are the only Person I have heard call him a Dud.

Video of Aish:

Gotta love it when blokes who have seen 5 secs of a bloke play start making bold statements on how the bloke is a dud etc and cant do this and that.
Aish is the best mid in this draft. I have watched him closely at Norwood for the past 2 seasons and the kid is going to be a star.
In his 1st GF as a 16 year old he should have won the Jack Oatey medal for best on ground and last season he has a shoulder injury that disrupted his season but he still used the ball at a elite level, the highlights package was a load of shit. He is so much better then that.
If Aish slips to 6 and we land him i will celebrate more then when we read out Grundy and Kennedy's names and i bloody jumped all over the Marion car park when that happened.

Okay, but how can you say he is the best mid in the draft, when you have probably not seen any of the other options except for those '5 sec clips'...? Or have you seen the Vic guys live as much as well?

Probably won't get to us anyway

PICK 2: Melbourne
James Aish, Norwood
183 cm 74kg
Comparison: Trent Cotchin

Norwood player James Aish is by far the best midfielder available in this year's draft and arguably the most talented overall player. Aish is an incredibly composed outside midfielder and he has a first-class ability to hit targets under pressure. He seems to have the power to be able to freeze time and think, while players around him are hopeless in their attempts to tackle him and apply pressure. Aish has the dexterity to understand the exact amount of time he has to dispose of the ball without the quality of the possession being neglected. Another awe-inspiring trait of Aish's is his ability to work hard and impact the game even when he receives a tag. In spite of receiving close attention from many teams throughout the under 18 carnival, Aish finished with one of the highest kicking efficiency's of any Division 1 player. This kicking allows him to be an effective player on the back flank and as a receiving midfielder. Up forward, his disposal is penetrating and he sets up goals beautifully. This is a testament to his work ethic and amazing football nous. His use of the football is immaculate; Aish has wonderful hands to go with elite kicking on either foot. His ability to work in tight with effective handballs is yet another quality that will entice clubs to draft the other worldly talent. Aish has the competence to handball to teammates in space and his clean hands almost never fumble. Just like Richmond star Trent Cotchin, Aish is a pure footballer who should have no issues adapting at AFL level. A talented player with a great football pedigree, Aish has all the makings of a future club captain and star. Although he has an ever-expanding skill set, Aish's contested ball winning ability has a way to go. With the talent he has, I doubt this will hold him back.

16 year old playing SANFL which is the 2nd best comp behind the AFL and almost being BOG in a GF and doing what he is doing against men with elite skills is what i base it on, as well as what most recruiters and experts on the under 18's say the same thing. I have seen some of the guys everyone is talking about in the championships but not enough to make a call on if i like them or not hence i wont go saying they are guns or duds.

I wasn't calling him a dud just had a query over his game from what I had seen which was a coupke champs games.
As I said other then that I only have opinions like yours who have seen a lot of him to go off. So I will back you in that he is all he is hyped to be and just had an ave to good champs.

Reminds me of a jack trengrove, he is going to play his 100-200 games most probably but he has no weapons. His kicking maybe high effiency but it wont cut an opposition up, average pace, smart footy brain but plays an uncontested brand of football. Not for me thanks, i want someone exciting at 6 who can turn a game.

Any of bontempelli, kk, salem, mccarthy, freeman or lennon. In that order for me
