Get him the same way we got Hudson

Your implication is that Hudson has done a bad job and Cox can do better.
Hudson did an absolutely brilliant job, and i wish we could have kept him, but now hes moved on like so many assistant coaches do to advance there own knowledge.

Cox is a must now.

The club should definitely chase after big c̶o̶c̶k̶s̶ Cox.

You people are fast turning the Pies into

Club already been down that path the last few years. Armstrong, White, Young, Russell and Lynch.

Cox would be something different, a TALENTED PLAYER, and the knowledge and skills he could pass on to witts and grundy would be sensationsl

We need to be very careful we don't turn the Pies into a melting pot for all to come and sit out there final years in greener pastures just getting fat. Cox is/was a champion. I'd be more than happy for him to come and coach to some capacity but not sure I want to see him pull on a black and white jumper.

Grundy has had 2 season nows, Witts played 20 games and showed good signs coming into the latter part of the season as a ruckman. My opinion is that we continue to develop these guys on the field. I thought we picked up Mason Cox who given time at 211 cm may develop into a more than capable ruckman when you combine his mobility and stamina.

I just don't buy into these recycled players. If you want to pick up recycled players model it on how the swans do it, seems to work just fine for them.

We need to develop a young team with games under there belts and pick up some pace with good foot skills before we lose players like Pendles and Cloke due to age.

I don't see the harm in putting him on the rookie list as a break in emergency type ruckman if he's willing.
It worked very well with Hudson, so I'm not sure why you would be against the concept. It's not like anyone is suggesting bringing him in on the senior list. He would be a coach first and foremost.

“So I don’t think there’s any chance of me going anywhere else.”

This is straight outta that article you linked, and I tend to believe the big fella. Isn't going anywhere - in 2015 at least.

Why? If it's just because he's ex Collingwood then that's a poor reason.

He would be coming from a winning culture for a start.....plus he was one of my favourite players!

Pretty sure Cox if a premiership player, so he knows the winning culture bit wouldn't be an issue. He also has been the WCE ruck coach on top of his playing duties the past few years. Did his job so well that one of his students Lycett has taken his spot and forced him in to retirement.

As much as I love Monkey, none of the Hawks ruckmen of the past few years have been particularly impressive. Solid but not spectacular.
