Was the biggest ever crowd for SOO 1.

Still not a great crowd considering its their only game.

They got 82,000 last year for their only game last year.

I watched the last bit of the match. I don't understand the interest in Rugby League. I echo Simon Cowell's comments, "I felt it, but it was like "So what"?

......................SPOILER.................

Queensland supporters would be gutted right now. It was an amazing comeback to a game that almost seemed destined for a NSW victory.

Sure that penalty for Buderus' hit was a joke, but QLD were the most dangerous side for the majority of the 2nd half IMHO.

Thurston's conversion kick was.... unbelievable.. almost the perfect kick.

And as for Finch... well hats off to him. He had a pretty good game, and he capped it off with the game winning field goal. He's an origin hero now.

so what are the crowd expectations for the MCG? it holds more than Telstra so could be a big crowd, hopefully mostly made up of victorians

what a strange game.

never really got out of first gear until the last 10 minutes - i think that was mainly because of the state of the ground. Players never really had their feet and looked reticent to hit the line at 100%.... It will be interesting to see the paper reviews. Personally, i thought it was an ok game, that would've been easily forgotten if not for the finish.

Guys that played well:

Finch - blinder.
Mason - blinder.
O'Meley - hits the ball up so hard. the best front row prop in the game IMO.
Gasnier - the guy is a freak, could be anything.
Thurston - had a few moments he'd like to forget but for the most part kept NSW in the game.
Tate - i was suprised he got the call up but was the main danger for the NSW team.

Other guys:
Bowen - very up and down. DId some great things and then couldn't do some basic things. Let the kicks hit the deck far too often.
Inglis - great in attack, struggled in defense.
Menzie - once again was everywhere.
Anasta - far to predictable with the ball in hand as usual. Good defender. he's better suited to the back row....

Its at Telstra dome. Already 35,000+ tickets sold... it hols just under 50,000 i think.
How lucky can NSW be with bloody field goals??? ffs!

Anyway i hope QLD wins next origin so game 3 will be a cracker and QLD can win the series 2-1 :thumbsu:

Beaver was everywhere last night....I thought Mason was excellent in the 1st half as much as I hate to say it...I thought Grothe had a good game. He always maanged to gain a few metres when tackled...Anasta's kicking game setup the first few tries....

Qld were terrible in the 1st half..Lockyer was terrible all night..Bowen didn't play that well...and Tate was not fit at all..I though Nate Myles was good off the bench....

Watching Mason score his try was great....

Gasnier always looked dangerous.

Must say though .... both teams seemed to hold back a bit in attack ...

Lucky! I thought Queensland shot themselves in the foot when they didn't use up their full set of six at the finish. Kicking it away early allowed NSW to get within range for the field goal.

Can someone who understands League better please explain to me why this could be seen as good tactics?

Not really 'bad news', just disappointing that they didn't sell the game out, considering the last 2 SOO games played there sold-out, and the fact it is the only one this year in Sydney.
