There's no evidence that outside of 2021 they've been a better team than us.

I went to the game tonight.

• Standard was fairly high to half time, it was a decent arm wrestle with both teams clearly rusty
• Melbourne ran out of gas in the second half. They looked really unfit across the board.
• Melbourne are going to get smashed by some good teams this season unless they can turn it around quickly.
• Petracca a class above his team-mates.
• Grundy was a mixed bag. Rucked well against Gawn, but had some comically bad moments.
• Swans played alright

They had most of their forward line out injured. Both sides had a few out but Melb probably had more. It looks like the same same from both sides again. I couldn't watch it for more than 5 minutes at a time, kept flicking the channel

Typical Swans game. Pleased for Brodes but he was always going to be a good fit for them, they’re a drop it at your feet and scrap kind of team, always have been.
What a snorefest for an opening game though and the AFL knew exactly what they’d get surely.
Gawn looks cooked, Clarry basting and the rest of them uninspiring. I think we broke them. Good.

I used to watch a large majority of games.
Just can’t do it now, we have been spoilt.
Even when a team stifles us, there’s the thrill of seeing if we can overcome it and win.

Grundy back to his best. Unfortunately for him, last year melbourne was a bad fit. Perphsos they should have traded Gawn….

Adams might find himself in the same boat this year. Swans midfield was excellent despite three keys players missing.

Neither side had a good tall forward setup.

You are right, even when they are winning, they are both crap sides, putrid to watch and dour contested slog
